Big step up for Tara. Should mean she'll be seeded at 10k events now.

....which given Tara's ability to beat high ranked opponents and still sometimes lose to lower ranked ones, may be less of an advantage to her than others!

Great week for her. She's done well since June really- QF of the 10K, an excellent battle in wimbledon qualies that she so nearly won. This week she has shown she can hold her own against players ranked 200-300, which is very encouraging.

Nice second set for Tara.

Sarah lost to Silva at the same tournament last year, so it won't be easy. Silva hasn't dropped a set this week, plus has served three bagels and two 6-1s.

Would be somewhat ironic if Sarah finally wins a 25k just days after becoming a "doubles specialist". Perhaps that's taken the pressure off her and she's just performed at her best level by relaxing.

My thoughts entirely John.

Anyway she has achieved the first part of the double:

Doubles final

Sarah Borwell (Gbr) & Courtney Nagle (USA) bt Nikola Frankova (Cze) & Anna Hawkins (Gbr) 7-5 6-3

This Silva is rather good on grass for a Portuguese.
