Brilliant choices and for once I can't complain! I would have liked Tara in qualies because of the points available, but it can't be helped as she is still in Wimbledon.
Hopefully the fourth one will go to Amy Askew or even better, Heather Watson (in case she wants it). Why Heather doesn't play women's tourneys is beyond me! Is she bent on joining college or something (not that it's a bad thing!)?
probably best that Tara is in main draw as atm I doubt she's consistent enough to make it through 3 rounds of challenger qualifying while with her talent, she's capable of stunning a top 300 player in rd1
would be amazing if Laura Robson got the final wc but seems likely that she won't start womens events till the autumn.....how many ITFs is she allowed this year ?
and how come they have this crazy restriction in the womens game but not in the mens ?

According to Stephen on GBTG Naomi Broady has the last WC - but I haven't found official confirmation of this. The rules for 14 year olds are:
b. 14 Years Old i. Between the date of a players 14th birthday and the day before her 15th birthday a player may participate in a maximum of eight (8) ITF Womens Circuit Tournaments, no more than three (3) of which may be at ITF Womens Circuit $50,000 and above, plus Fed Cup. ........ ii. These players are permitted to receive a maximum of three (3) Wild Cards as follows: one (1) Wild Card into the Main Draw or Qualifying Draw of any WTA Tour Tier I-IV or ITF Womens Circuit Tournament, and two (2) Wild Cards into the Main Draw or Qualifying Draw of any ITF Womens Circuit Tournaments.
The rules are there to protect young players from burn-out, as happened often, especially to precocious American girls, in the 80s and 90s.
Shedman, it won't be a good idea if Robson does this as she has played too much tennis at one go - Eastbourne Juniors, Roehampton and now Wimbledon. Probably it'll be good to take a week's break, then train on clay for the Euros.
But surely Tara would get 2 points if she would qualify and then lose first round?
No, in women's ITF/WTA tournaments qualifiers who lose in the first round only get qualifying points (in the case of a 25K this means just 1 point). Personally I don't think it is fair that qualifiers get the same as first round losers and queried it with the WTA statistics department when the points scheme was changed 18 months ago, but they refused to budge or explain their logic.
Main draw is out. Unfortunately our 3 seeds are all in the same half of the draw. Jade W has a rerun of last week's Junior second round.
