This calls into question whether he should have been allowed to play at Wimbledon as he had already been given a warning earlier this year for his general attitude.
Was Dan Evans a wildcard then? Surely if he was a direct entrant it's nothing to bloody do with the LTA whether he is "allowed" to play Wimbledon

Yep. And the point of funding the trip isn't there, either, given that it's in Britain.
So either the journo has no idea or else he/she is suggesting that the LTA blackmail Evo by saying that if he plays Wimbly, he loses funding, which is sort of impossible.

Either the thought of another day getting pissed on was too much for some of our foreign visitors or our youngsters have had a pretty good day, lets hope it's the latter.

5 of the 6 I thought would win did, with only Thornley losing, but great that Smethurst and Waitling did better than I expected and got themselves a point.
Tough loss for Cox who got a lot closer to Klein than I thought he may do which is encouraging, but hopefully he'll start to get some nicer draws where he can pick up some ranking points and be where Klein is now in a year's time, and with Cox pushing him close, it gives Jonny a great chance to beat him
Know very little about Waitling, and to be he's sort of come from nowhere (don't recall seeing his name in futures before), so if he's qualifed and won a point at the first time then it's a stunning effort
Not expecting too many wins from tomorrow, but it depends how many of the seeds really want to stay and play catch up here, and how well the juniors can perform (and Jonny), while it's a shame for Bamford and Goodall to have to face each other at this stage.
Guessing that Goodall will win that match, and hopefully Jonny can make the QF's as well, with one of the juniors pulling off an upset

Evans's deserves everything that is thrown at him by the LTA, and to be honest, he's going to have to do a lot to show that he deserves to be funded by them again after these incidents, as getting caught out late twice in a few weeks doesn't show commitment to the sport, and he appears to be more interested in partying than trying to build a career (and what an response to the WC at Queens.... a shocking performance, code violation for swearing and htting a ball out of the stadium, and then goes clubbing until 4am to celebrate winning 2 games)
It doesn't look to me like there was much tanking going on, given that two of the matches in red went to three sets and the other two both included one tight tiebreak, so well done the youngsters. Particularly amazing that Ashley, just turned 18, is doing so well this week having one won one Futures qualifying match in 7 before!
Here are the matches involving GB players tomorrow:
L16: (1) Josh Goodall WR 261 v Neil Bamford WR 690 L16: (Q) Ashley Watling UNR v (5) Matthew Ebden (AUS) WR 393 L16: (WC) Jonny Marray WR 670 v (4) Brydan Klein (AUS) WR 334 L16: (WC) David Rice WR 1122 v (7) Greg Jones (AUS) WR 467 L16: (WC) Josh Milton WR 1012 v (3) Adam Feeney (AUS) WR 288 L16: (Q) Dan Smethurst WR 1150 v (2) Pavel Chekhov (RUS) WR 275

Just for a bit of fun, I've added a poll to let you predict who will be the LOWEST ranked of the 6 Brits left in to reach the QFs. Pick Josh if you think there are going to be no upsets and he will be the only Brit to go through, but if you think Bammy will beat Josh or one or more of the other Brits will win, pick the lowest one on the list who you expect to go through.

Nice to see a couple of our lot for once doing to more highly ranked (& therefore fancied) opponents what the latter seem far more frequently to do on the rare occasions when the roles are reversed!
