Wimbledon R3: Murray vs Haas

Second match on Centre tomorrow.  Bit of a grudge match, as the head-to-head is 1-1, both encounters in Indian Wells.  Andy won the first last year in three sets, while Haas won the re-match this year when Andy was still not in the best of form.  Gonna be a toughie...

I'm surprised how strong a favourite Andy is on the betfair market.

Essentially the odds are saying that if the match was played 30 times - Andy would win a few more than 20 - or to put it another way Hass's odds are just under 1 in 3.

Yes, but they are reflecting the number of people who will be betting on Andy.

In reality his odds are probably longer, but he's still a fairly big favourite given their respective form and current rankings.

That actually seems a reasonable estimate to me, given the form that Andy has shown so far and Tommy only having played 2 matches since April prior to Wimbledon.

I am very confident about this match.  I'm sort of 50 / 50 about whether it will go 3 sets or 4, but I don't see it going further.

GAME - Unreturnable serve. Love service game.

Haas serving at 1-1 in the first set:

0-15. Haas comes in on a second serve, but he can't get his volley off his laces back in the court.
15-15. Tommy works Andy around the court and wins the point with a cross court forehand winner.
15-30. Longest rally of the match and Murray induces the error.
15-40. Haas comes up to the net again and leaves a gap, allowing Murray to produce a very good pass.
GAME! Point of the match so far. Haas hits a marvellous volley which sends Murray wide but he hits a brilliant running single-handed backhand winner down the line. Ten out of ten for that shot.

Murray leads *2-1.

15-0. Forehand error from the German.
30-0. Deep approach shot from Andy and Haas can't generate enough topspin to pass Murray.
40-0. Ace down the T.
40-15. Forehand just catches the tape of the net.
40-30. Tame backhand into the net.
GAME. Murray makes another successful foray into the net, finish the point with an easy putaway.

Murray leads 3-1*

Andy is serving at 3-2 in the first set:

15-0. Forehand goes long.
30-0. Very deep sliced backhand approach shot forces and error - much better shot than the crowd acknowledged.
30-15. Very nice drop shot from Haas, and Andy gets to it but he cant get it back into the court.
40-15. Another ACE down the T. (Number four, i think)
GAME. ACE out wide.

Murray leads 4-2*

Haas is serving at 2-4

0-15. Haas comes in at the net, again off a second serve, but his volley just misses the line. Would have been a clean winner if he got it in.
0-30. DOUBLE FAULT, first of the match.
0-40. Murray comes into the net very nicely, but he's pretty lucky to as his attempted put away catches the tape. Haas is too far from the ball to capitilise.
15-40. Unreturnable serve.
30-40. Backhand into the net from Andy.
DEUCE. Beautiful cross court forehand and Andy can't get it back in play.
Advantage Murray. Forehand error.
DEUCE. ACE out wide. (#1 for Haas, I think)
Advantage Haas. ACE out wide, again.
GAME. Andy's forehand sails long.

Murray leads *4-3
