Hmm!  Bob & Sam would appear to be back in the groove:  they beat the ninth seeds 4 & 2! omg.gif   Let battle commence... biggrin

And battle will commence in the third & last match on Centre tomorrow, after the two men's SFs...! biggrin

I Know its just mixed doubles - but I was wondering when was the last successful defence of a Wimbledon (or other Slam) title by a Brit?

I think this is very possibly our esteemed Davis Cup Captain

John Lloyd and Wendy Turnbull of Australia were Wimbledon Mixed Doubles Champions in 1983 and 1984

Liezel  H & Cara Black, the top seeds & defending champions in the women's doubles, have just lost their semi-final match in straight sets (3 & 3) to the 16th seeds, Lisa Raymond & Sam Stosur, so with any luck she'll be thirsting for revenge later this afternoon... wink

And hopefully as a result of Nestor/Zimonjic winning their doubles semi earlier today and giving Daniel Nestor the world number 1 spot, Bob Bryan will be too distraught at losing it to play a proper tennis match.

Will be on in about 90 mins at most judging by the ease at which Nadal is thrashing Schuettler

Nice to see Schüttler showing Andy how to break Rafa smile.gif

From the BBC:

"1555: "Just overheard a sunbathing ball girl on Court Six say 'God, I'm so over Jamie Murray.' Women - fickle."

ROFLMAO smile.gif

Just watching the coverage of the miced doubles semi final.

It was suggested in commentary after Bob Bryan whacked down a few serves that there was no holding back these days, not like it used to be in the past, "hit and giggle"

Just happened the co-commentator is John Lloyd, who was deeply offended  ROTFL   biggrin

They lost 2-6, 7-6(1), 6-4.

Jamie Murray was broken at 4-4 with a double fault to give Bryan/Stosur the break when Murray and Huber had been the better team in the final set and had plenty of chances to break Stosur's serve in the previous game.

That said, Murray did look the weakest player on the court and was often the one who made the errors at the crucial stage, while at the end of the match it was Stosur who was the standout player.

A semi final is a decent effort though, but now we have a Bryan vs. Bryan final... the male version of the Williams sisters singles final (and they are also in the ladies doubles final)

Pity that but still Jamie and Liezel do seem a good pairing as they have done well at all 4 slams playing together now.

Huber also can be smug that she wasn't broken when both men were.
