Weeks 26 & 27: The Championships, Wimbledon (mixed doubles)

Was planning to start a new thread anyway, but FD on the men's doubles thread has saved me a lot of typing! biggrin

Just noticed that Auckland/Baltacha have a potential mixed doubles match tomorrow so the draw must be out for that.... and so it is [slightly edited]

Bloomers/Borwell vs. Calleri/Kanepi
Auckland/Baltacha vs. Skoch/Benesova
Delgado/O'Brien vs. Wassen/Razzano
Bogdanovic/South vs. Allegro/Szavay
Hutchins/Keothavong vs. Perry/Santangelo
(12) Murray/Huber vs. Martin/King or Tursunov/Petrova

Thought they may have given Eaton a go at this after his results this week, but probaly couldn't work out which of the doubles players didn't deserve to miss out, or maybe he chose not to play it.

Good to see Boggo/South get another chance after last year's QF, coming just 2 days after we were told Boggo wouldn't ever get another LTA WC, and they could win a couple of rounds here given how badly Szavay played today.

Murray has a decent chance of a run as it's Knowle/Chan in round 3, and Nestor/Chaung in the Qf's, and I think he beat them both last time, so be good to see him repeat the run

*  Having looked at the draw a little later than FD, the only change I would make is that Murray/Huber have a bye in the first round. wink

For the record, Boggo & Mel South are also scheduled to play their R1 mixed doubles in the third match on Court 7... wink

i think thye couldnt really refuse boggo and south a wc after last year, reaching the qf and putting the no1 seeds out on the way.

hopefully they can pick up where they left off.

I don't understand it either, but I have deleted the other one!

Probably just another Activeboard quirk.

I think it's if you use the 'history' or 'back' button to recall the thread.

Local newspaper report of Bloomers doubles/mixed doubles -

bit of info i heard that mel was a bit of a doubt about playing the dubs, so she may be carrying some kind of injury (knee). lets hope she is feeling all ok for the match.

I assume they lost the tie-break? My scoreboard froze about an hour ago.
