What a shame, it would have been great to see him get his first Challenger title. But as you say, an excellent week that none of us saw coming that has put Richard right back on track:
- back in the top 300 - back in the GB top 5, possibly top 4 next week (though I hope not, because it'll mean Slabba and Baker haven't had a good week!) - up on the year so far - only about 1/4 of his points still to defend this year
It's just a pity that he probably won't get into USO Q now, though that was only a pipe dream at the start of the week of course and he still might.
Did he really bagel Rehnquist in the 2nd?

Also, unless I've missed something, this is Bloomers' biggest points haul from a single tournament - 38 beats the 35 he got for reaching the Wrexham Final last year and the 35 he got for beating Berlocq at Wimby in 2006.

It's always harsh when you win more games than your opponent but lose a three setter.
Still, I would have taken this at the start of the week. Hopefully he will get lucky with the USO cut.
This sets him up nicely for the rest of the year, I guess, as he'll now be making cuts at many Challengers. Hopefully he'll go up to around 270 by the USO and then there'll be the indoor season, one of his favourite times of the year.
Aww, Richard. I'd like to thank Gazz for his great match reports posted here and on my web. It's a bad luck your player didn't clinch it :( Hopefully it was a kick in the ass anyway.
Unlucky for Bloomers to lose in the final, but it's still be a great week for him, and hopefully will set him up for a strong end to the season, and try and push the ranking back up towards the top 200.
Slightly disappointed at the loss today though, as he should have had all the momentum with him after bagelling Rehnquist in the second set, and had 2 set points by the looks of things in the TB, 1 on his own serve, so a bit disappointing he couldn't have won the opening set, or carry on his form into the 3rd set.
Great week for him on the whole though, and hope he can sneak into the US Open qualies draw, but it does look unlikely
Definitely a shame that you couldn't make at the weekend as neither the official website or the new revised LTA website (short lived enthusiasm there) appear to have the resources or the interest to post a report on which was obviously an exciting final at a British challenger! - Just look at the number of visits to the posts on this thread to see the amount of interest here so why not with the British tennis governing body? But is anyone really surprised?
no one works weekends! boggo's win in granby wasnt reported either, depsite what at 16-14 tb and a TB in the decider! they are taking steps in the right direction but its only baby steps.

Like I said after Granby, all they need is someone who's a bit keen on tennis with a logon they can use from home willing to spend a couple of hours at the weekend updating the site when something big happens. Surely there's someone at the LTA who is keen on tennis?
If there was more than one, they could even do just some weekends each!
