I guess I'm probably the only person (apart from Bethan) who's seen Chris play in futures in the past year,
I watched Chris in action, though while watching two nearer games at the same time, at November's Sunderland 10K. I published the report on our site, but perhaps it was while you were on your sabbatical. Below is the relevant extract - on re-reading it, I see Chris had the same problem against Chramosta as he did against Tursonov, - 'never quite win the break points which came his way'. What a wonderful set of performances Chris gave over the past ten days, right through the qualifying and into the two 'main course' rounds.
Exempt from any criticism is Chris Eaton; his was another 'slugfest', akin to Skupski's. Serving, on both sides, was excellent; in general, Chris had less difficulty retaining his than did Chramosta. Unfortunately, however, while Chris could never quite win the break points which came his way, the Czech did, twice, in consecutive Eaton service games, at the end of the first set and then right at the start of the second. Exciting, quality tennis, though.
