Compared to the main draw, that's a pathetically weak qualifying draw and those who turned up must be laughing at how easy it will be to qualify.

Corrie, Kinsella and Bradshaw can't fail not to qualify here, while I'm sure we can get a Brit through in the bottom 2 sections as well.

Shame that Arlidge is in a seeded section, but hoping he can qualify as well here and get another point

Draw's not strong any more, though. Lugassy, Chekhov and a few others have withdrawn, leaving us with a cut of 1036 (O'Brien gets an SE) or lower.

Kinsella withdrew, by the way. It is possible that there were loads of withdrawals and he was bumped up into the main draw.

I wonder. He would be the first player in qualifying to get bumped up, because Perevoshchikov wasn't on the Alt list at all and Jonny was just above Corrie and Bayet (the other two who were seeded above him in qualifying) on the Alt list.

However, there were 10 players above him on the Alt list, 8 of whom had Limerick as their priority 1, so there's going to have to have been lots of w/ds (or a few w/ds and none of the other Alts having bothered to turn up) for him to have got in. Hopefully that's the explanation though!

It's not impossible, though. Kyle, who was two places above Kinsella, isn't in qualies and maybe that's because he got in?

That must be why he withdrew as last time I looked at the entry list there were only 15 names on it, so I'm guessing he was moved into the main draw.

Hope it's not the alternative and he's picked up an injury...

Well done to Ryan Horgan, he plays a good serve volley game so he has a decent chance to get his first point on this indoor carpet surface.

Do we know if Corrie is back playing full time now or just for the summer and then back to college?

Ed really needs some wins here, gone a bit flat recently and doesn't really like the quick surfaces but a quarter final here would help a bit.

Just for the summer from what I can guess.

It would be weird if he dropped after just a year. I mean, some rare few do it (Blake for example) but it's not sensible as now you've both lost a year and don't get a high profile training base for free (well, nothing comes for free but close enough) unless you start performing brilliantly in two or three weeks.
