Wimby Draw Thread

Where's it gone?

I've browsed round and seen there is a thread on the Andy Murray section, but can we not keep a thread in the Men's section as there may be people like me who sort of anti-Murray and tend to just view the Men's and Women's section of the forum?

Instead of duplicating the actual draw, it would probably be better to set up a thread for the Murray-Santoro match oin the Andy section and a thread for the other GB R1 matches in the men's section (?)

Is it wrong to expect three wins?

Probably not. I like Chris's draw! That's most definitely winnable! Galvani... hmmm... not sure I've heard much from him this year so I'm gonna say Baker has a chance unless he's not 100% JUST yet...

Bolelli's a sly one IMO... Alex CAN win it. But then again, so could I on a great day...

Hmmm...

Not at all - Eaton, even though outranked by 550 places, should be the favourite against a man who's never won a match on grass, while Galvani and Bolelli aren't exactly world beaters on the surface

Dont think its a case of expecting, but we can hope for 3 wins

Those are three stunningly good draws. i'm not going to expect any wins as technically they are all still a long way from being favourites. However, I'm a whole lot more hopeful than I thought I'd be smile.gif

Seen there has already been one withdrawal and the 1st LL place went to Tobias Kamke.

Definately couldn't have hoped for better draws.....realistic possiblity of 4 Brits in round 2......

Eaton has the dream draw against Pashanski, he'll be on an outside court and they're a lot faster than the 3 show courts which will help. Plus if he serves 31 aces in 3 sets (as against Patience) which is almost Karlovic like, he'll be very tough to beat

Boggo finally has the draw he's been waiting for for 3 years.....fingers crossed he can finally produce his best tennis and get that win which would surely be huge. However, compared to opponents the other 3 have got it is the toughest draw. Bolelli has potential to be quite decent on grass, big serve and a good forehand. He's ranked no 47 and had good wins indoors and on hard this year - beaten Karlovic, Kohlschreiber, Cilic......and should have beaten Davydenko in Miami..........

They've played once before, when Bolelli retired in the Bergamo final 2 years ago

Baker's draw is very, very similar to last year, again he's got a qualifier. Last year it was Roger-Vasselin and everyone said, best draw of all the Brits, should win but he lost in straight sets. Galvani's ranked 204 and came through 3 tough matches - Wang, Golubev before beating Bozoljac in 5 sets.......its winnable but Galvani's not the grass court mug we thought he was

Baker's only problem is that he has only played one match for ages. He really should have done Nottingham qualies! It's a shame he couldn't get into/didn't want to get into Boodles this year. Still, this is about as good as it gets at a Slam.

Yep and also while grass aides the likes of Eaton with his massive serve and Boggo with his liking for the low bouncing courts....grass doesn't really help Baker's game in any way apart from the crowd support
