This week sees some of the weakest Futures entry lists ever:
Azerbaijan F1 - WR 1459 currently enough for a DA (meaning that 36-year-old Brit Gregory Howe is a DA here!), 9 on the Alt list.
Argentina F7 - only 19 entrants, 18 DAs (cut WR 1208) + 1 Alt, all Argentine (so they almost automatically get 44 ranking points to share out between them)
... but taking the biscuit ...
Paraguay F1 - only 20 entrants (including the Alt list), WR 1687 currently enough for a DA and WR 1300 enough for a seeding - no wonder it is so weak when there are futures in Argentina and Peru at the same time!
Even Syria F1 (which includes Myles Blake) is stronger than these two!

They absolutely have to go for ATP Washington qualies! 48 player draw and it's in the Olympics week, so the cut will be low.
Not quite going to be as weak as we'd hoped now that the entry list is out.
It's been cut to a 32 player event, so the cut is at 86, and given that almost every player who isn't playing the Olympics is on the alternate list, the qualifying draw looks like it could be quite strong as well, so maybe the Bronx challenger is going to be a better bet for Boggo and Baker, as that doesn't look like it will have a strong list
at least at bronx they can get settled in NY. assuming they will hsave been at binghapton the week b4. although there are a few extra points (always a draw for boggo it seems) avalible in brazil in the binghamton week, but i have a suspicion the lads may prefer the relative safety of the big apple.

Looks like Boggo will be seeded for Granby, as the 8th player on the list is ranked 256, and his ranking is now above that, and Baker is just 1 off a seeding at the moment (i think)
And one of the players above Boggo and Baker is Dlouhy, who's still playing Wimbledon doubles, so he may withdraw as well, so Baker would be seeded as well
well thats good, lessens the change of a horrid rd1 draw. i hope his decision to play aptos doesnt backfire as he will need to do well at granby to get a seeding there, whereas at moncton would be a high seed.

Just a shame that in a poor quality weak like this (and next), only Andy Murray is ranked anywhere near high enough to even threaten the cut, when last year Boggo would have been a DE in 3 of the 4 events, and would have only just missed a seeding a Newport
The lack of clay court experience also shows this week and I'd imagine the 3 clay events won't have great qualifying draws (Stuttgart cut is 260ish and you get 5 points for winning Qr1 as it's an ISG event), and some of the players will be playing challengers, yet there's no-one who we have that would take advantage and qualify in a week like this (but there are more hard court events than clay events throughout the year)
Inactiveboard has just started to throw up errors on new topic creation, so I'll collect any new info here and farm it out to new topics once everything is working again.
Week 28 - Challenger ($50k) - Ramat Hasharon, Israel
QR1: (q1) James Ward WR 476 v Guy Goren (ISR) UNR
The only ranked player in James's section is (q5) Amit Inbar (ISR) WR 1598!
Slabba is a DA here.
Week 28 - Futures F11 ($10k) - Bucharest, Romania
QR1: Oscar Podlewski UNR v (q4) Vadim Alekseenko (UKR) WR 1022 QR1: Ned Boone UNR v (WC) Constantin Sturdza (SUI) UNR
James Feaver is a DA here and Matthew Illingworth will either be a DA or a SE.
Update: Now on their own threads

Not at all - it's better for him to have missed out and have to play qualifying here, because he's basically guarenteed 2 points here as there is simply no way that he isn't going to qualify, having to beat 2 unranked Israeli's, and then another 1 with just 1 ranking point to his name.
If he doesn't qualify, then he wouldn't have stood a chance in the main draw, and will pick up 2 ranking points and a little bit more money for having to qualify.
And looking at the qualifying draw.... really hoping that Slabba gets a qualifier!
Update: Activeboard is now allowing new topics to be created again so the Ramat Hasharon and Bucharest Q draw details have been transferred to their own threads.
