Thought Goodall and Bamford would do better than they did, so a slight disappointment to see them lose as easily as they did against what was one of the better draws that they could have got.
Boggo/Marray put up a good showing, but fell away in the 3rd it looked like, but for 2 sets pushed the 2nd seeds which is a creditable effort for them, especially as I don't think they've played doubles together before.
Murray/Minryi had a good straight sets win against Gicquel and Santoro who are a very strong unseeded pairing so it will give them a lot of confidence with that win. Up next is Cerretani/Hanescu who should be beatable, but have to play well in the tiebreaks again as they both, especially Cerretani have got massive serves.
Hutchins/Huss against Erlich/Ram up soon on court 4, but disappointed this is on a non-TV court as you'd think a Brit in round 2 against the 3rd seeds would at least get a TV court, but apparantly not
This is a great performance so far. Let's hope they prevail in the fifth (or sooner). They've strung together some good performances recently both here and in Paris.

Unfortunately, they didn't. They took it to five sets, but the final score was 6-7(4) 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-4 to Erlich & Ram ...!
Stretch & the Beast are back in action tomorrow against James Cerretani (US) & Hutch's erstwhile partner, Victor Hanescu (ROM), in the third match on N° 1.
Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
Don't think so! But, nonetheless, they won in three 6-4 6-4 7-6. I fear their next match will be more of a test: the second-seeded pair of Nestor & Zimonjic (CAN/SRB). Having said that, N&Z took four sets to see off Ram & Reynolds.
I saw most of this match - we missed the start because we deserted our Court 1 seats to watch Andy's match on the Hill.
Jamie and Max both played very well, I thought. Max has the strength and Jamie the deft touch, so they can work well together. In fact watching them I couldn't help wondering why they have not done better together so far - maybe it is just starting to click into place.
Jamie was wearing a headband round his curls McEnroe-style. He looked so much like all the spectators wearing McEnroe wigs that it was rather funny. It was even funnier watching Cerretani; he jumps around all over the place, and when his partner was serving or receiving, he took up a stance with legs wide apart, bum sticking out, and inched forwards while waiting. It looked like a Maori Haka minus the stuck-out tongue. I'm afraid my daughter and I both kept getting the giggles watching him.
