I thought Aucks/Delgado were going to do it for a moment, but a good effort by them anyway, even if the end result is a disappointing loss for them.
Skupski/Bloomers are in the match, but ideally are going to have to win this set if they want to win the match, as going to win in 5 sets will be tough for them, but they've done okay so far.
Eaton/Slabba don't have a great chance against the Bryan's, and I'm surprised they're on court 19, as I thought he may get a better court after his win yesterday. Don't think they'll win, but if Eaton serves like that today he isn't going to get broken.
Boggo/Marray don't have a big chance either, but it will be interesting to see which court they end up on... my bets for court 2, 5 or 7, but Centre Court has to be a possibility if Fed, Djoko and Kuzzy all win in straight sets
...........Bloomers/Skupski to finish off 5th on Court 4...........
This is a joke - I was there yesterday and the match finished with failing light at about 9.10pm and was assumed would be resumed 2nd match on court today, but no! it's the 5th match yet again, I shouldnt think the 13th seeds are that impressed either. Kerr although smaller in stature has a pretty big game (He is only 5'11 compared to his partners 6'4 ).
Also watched Aucks/Delgy match this was hard fought and could have gone either way and Annes win was very impressive as was Becker's win over Davydenko certainly Becker looked like the seeded player. Sitting in line with one of the line judges I found it impossible on occasions to
decide if a serve was in or out for those 134-136 mph serves, I think it is a matter of guesswork.
Having not got home until 2.15am (including major hold up on motorway) I am not going today, will watch live scores instead - this match is still winnable. The support that Chris was getting on neighbouring court 3 was amazing making some line calls on court 4 inaudible.
Eaton and Slabba holding their own against the mighty Bryans. Eaton saved four break points in his first service game (which included multiple aces and double-faults), but it's now 5-5.
..and the Bryans go an early break up in the second to lead 7-5 2-0. Perhaps Eaton, the only world-class singles player here, is thinking ahead to tomorrow.
Thought Eaton and Slabba may do a bit better in terms of keeping the score closer and maybe nicking a tiebreak, but I suppose the doubles isn't that important to them anymore with Eaton in singles and Slabba wanting to get to Ireland next week.
Bloomers and Skupski went down in 4 sets today as well, but not a great draw for them anyway, and now they can go to Ireland next week and try and score some points there.
Bloomers/Borwell vs. Calleri/Kanepi Auckland/Baltacha vs. Skoch/Benesova Delgado/O'Brien vs. Wassen/Razzano Bogdanovic/South vs. Allegro/Szavay Hutchins/Keothavong vs. Perry/Santangelo (12) Murray/Huber vs. Martin/King or Tursunov/Petrova
Thought they may have given Eaton a go at this after his results this week, but probaly couldn't work out which of the doubles players didn't deserve to miss out, or maybe he chose not to play it.
Good to see Boggo/South get another chance after last year's QF, coming just 2 days after we were told Boggo wouldn't ever get another LTA WC, and they could win a couple of rounds here given how badly Szavay played today.
Murray has a decent chance of a run as it's Knowle/Chan in round 3, and Nestor/Chaung in the Qf's, and I think he beat them both last time, so be good to see him repeat the run
I'd like to watch this but... fat chance. The Beeb have spent a nano-second on the doubles so far. They only showed a glimpse of a match because Chris happened to be playing and they think they have discovered a new talent.
Some good performances from the doubles guys. I was impressed with Aucks and Delgo.
The Boggo/Marray match was shown as court TBA on yesterday's OoP and I was fully expecting to see them on Centre after singles play finished so early. Instead, they put a ladies' doubles match on there that as far as I could tell, nobody had the slightest interest in ... and it finished 0 & 1 as well. Great scheduling - not!
This left centre court with no tennis for the last hour or two and thousands of people desperate for some tennis to watch, such that the outside courts were swamped with people - even Bellucci-Stadler was standing room only, n deep, and had people hanging off the back of the court next to it to watch.
