Week 25 - Wimbledon Qualifying 2nd Round

Thought it be best to start a new thread for today ala what was done for the guys.

Amanda Elliott is on already and got broken in the first game!

However, she has won the next 3 games so is serving at 3-1

Ah I posted just a little too early there, Amanda went to 15-40 down and has been broken back, so we're all back on serve now at 3-2*

Amanda has been broken again and its 3-4*

Ann just loses the 1st set 1-6

Hopefully they'll both do what they did yesterday and turn it amazingly around

It would be nice to get at least one of them through, wouldn't it. A breadstick loss in the 1st doesn't sound too hopeful for Anna though.

The Brits really like to do things the hard way.

Amanda Elliott had bp chance but now 1-1. Then holds for 2-1. Now 3bps. She breaks for 3-1.

Sense that her serve has been misfiring today. To be broken 3 times in the first set seems unlike her. If she can get it working then she should still have a chance.

Anna S had bp but couldn't take it then saved 2bps then another before holding for 4-1. Now 4-2

Ann now at 4-1*
Amanda at 2-1*

By the way anyone interested it seems Coral are still taking bets on the Tursanov vs Johannson match even though Tursanov has been thrown out

Anna S holds for 5-2 Then fights back to 40-40 but 5-3

Amanda *3-1 30-30 40-30 holds for 4-1. Then 4-2.

Encouraging spell for both brits. Still need to finish off these sets.

Anna S serving for the set 0-15 15-15 15-30 15-40 broken 5-4* Shame as she had done so well up to that point.

Amanda serving *4-2 0-30 to 40-30 holds for 5-2* 0-30 15-30 15-40 takes it for 6-2

Anna S broken to 15. She'll need to break Ondraskova again.
