And Patience's 13-11 was quite a short match for him, compared to what he has done at Wimbledon qualifying before.

Back in 2005 he lost in the first round to Chris Guccione 4-6, 7-6(3), 23-21!!!

* Holds out white flag * I can't compete with that feat of memory LOL. (and yes, I know it's not a competition wink)

Had to check the scoreline, but I knew he was involved in an insanely long match before at Wimbledon, but wouldn't have known who he'd played without looking it up.

(It's not like I'm remembered the TB score from a qualifying match involving 2 non-brits from 3 years ago)

That's how it works with me too - a vague memory that prompts me to look something up.

Apart from knowing all the set scores in Dee & Lownsbrough's matches of course, they (plus the names el Harith, Rusthei and Derakhshani) are imprinted on my memory for life. ashamed

It's over for Cox... I know he's not expected to win this, but he's joining Seator and Skupski in the club of losing rather too easily.

It's okay, I think. He's played well for six matches in a row, and this is the age for inconsistency.

Come on, make it tough for Stadler.

Cox loses 6-2, 6-2 to end British interest in the singles for the day.

Not surprised he lost, but felt he should have got closer than that based on his results at Nottingham.

So it's Goodall, Bloomers and Eaton who fly the flag into tomorrow

He was probably knackered after those three matches at the weekend, I should think.

De-facto Brit Max Mirnyi wins 6-4, 6-4 and so at least has got something out of his choice to try and qualify rather than play Nottingham with Jamie Murray

Alun Jones and Sam Warburg are now playing in the doubles qualies - this seems to rule out the injury explanation as why these two seeded players were so easily beaten in singles round 1.

Guess the matches at the weekend took its toll. Shame as 2 wins here would of brought in a vast amount of points for him

Seator & Smethurst lost their doubles match 6-2, 6-4, while Pauffley & Willis lost the first set 6-3 in theirs.
