hmmm Kevin Kim that could be tricky.....good serve though he is predominantly a good hacker from the back, no big shots just very fast.......if Jonny's 100% he could have a shot
I was getting the feeling that as with the LTA, those who do their website have taken the whole weekend off ...
He phoned for his draw. Forgot to ask who anyone else had got, though I dont reckon he'd have known necessarily to be honest, players tend to be interested in one thing only.... themselves!
QR1 draw with details of other seeds in that section up to the stage where the top seed in the section would likely be faced:
QR1: (WC) Ken Skupski WR 528 v Noam Okun (ISR) WR 286 - winner may play (q3) Gil (POR) QR1: (WC) Morgan Phillips WR 1784 v (q4) Philipp Petzschner (GER) WR 118 QR1: Josh Goodall WR 269 v Ivo Klec (SVK) WR 359 - winner may play (q5) Kendrick (USA) QR1: (WC) Jonny Marray WR 1586 v Kevin Kim (USA) WR 186 - winner may play (q29) Sirianni (AUS) in same section as the match above QR1: (WC) Edward Seator WR 512 v Louk Sorensen (IRL) WR 263 - winner may play (q23) Roger-Vasselin (FRA), top seed (q6) Soeda (JPN) QR1: (WC) Richard Bloomfield WR 389 v Rui Machado (POR) WR 287 - winner may play (q20) Jones (AUS), top seed (q11) Warburg (USA) QR1: (WC) Daniel Cox WR 942 v (q32) Simon Stadler (GER) WR 167 - top seed (q14) Bohli (SUI) QR1: (WC) Chris Eaton WR 660 v (q15) Mikhail Kukushkin (RUS) WR 138
Even the unseeded QR1 opponents sound like a roll-call of Brit-bashers and I can't believe the last two qualifying WCs haven't been awarded - they might as well have given them to Evans or Willis or whoever, it's not like handing out main draw WCs.

The basic QR1 draw, I'll add in opponent rankings in a minute.
QR1: (WC) Ken Skupski WR 528 v Noam Okun (ISR) WR QR1: (WC) Morgan Phillips WR 1784 v (q4) Philipp Petzschner (GER) WR QR1: Josh Goodall WR 269 v Ivo Klec (SVK) WR QR1: (WC) Jonny Marray WR 1586 v Kevin Kim (USA) WR QR1: (WC) Edward Seator WR 512 v Louk Sorensen (IRL) WR QR1: (WC) Richard Bloomfield WR 389 v Rui Machado (POR) WR QR1: (WC) Daniel Cox WR 942 v (q32) Simon Stadler (GER) WR QR1: (WC) Chris Eaton WR 660 v (q15) Mikhail Kukushkin (RUS) WR
Rubbish draws and looks like the last two WCs have been wasted!
I think when you get into grand slam qualies they all look hard.
I'd say Cox and Philips are the only two I would think have a real uphill battle, think Skupski and Jonny could spring a suprise, Ed Seator can have no complaints and would make Josh and Bloomers favourites, dont know anything about the grass pedigree of Kukushkin so cant comment on that one.
Noticed that Josh and Jonny are in same section of the draw, looks pretty tough with Josh due to play Kendrick if he wins and Jonny up against Sirianni or Bogomolov if he wins.
hmmm Kevin Kim that could be tricky.....good serve though he is predominantly a good hacker from the back, no big shots just very fast.......if Jonny's 100% he could have a shot
Interesting, good hackers from the back tend to struggle a bit on grass, because you have less time to retrieve balls, but a good serve goes a long way.
True, they should look hard, even. Anyway, my take on the matches ...
I know Slabba beat Okun in Surbiton, but given Boggo's problems against Okun, surely Ken won't have much chance.
Morgan has a horrible draw, though you wouldn't expect him to have much chance at this level on grass anyway.
I guess Josh should win, because Klec has lost to Wardy, Bloomers, and Boggo in his last three GB matches, though he did push James very close. I don't fancy his chances against Kendrick in QR2 though!
Kim seems like a tough opponent for Jonny, especially if Jonny is not 100%.
Sorensen has been doing well in Challengers, but is a pretty good draw for grand slam qualifying - probably a pity one of our higher-ranked players didn't get him, but hopefully Edward can be inspired to spring a surprise. A year ago, he can hardly have imagined being here, so that's all good.
Machado is 44-6 for the year, main in Futures and on clay admittedly, but those Futures he won in Portugal with that all-time top 10 winning streak were on outdoor hard, so that's a nasty draw for Bloomers who was having knee problems in Nottingham.
Cox has a really tough one, as you say - though possibly not as tough as his opponents in Nottingham.
Eaton's opponent Kukushkin qualifed for and won the Barletta Challenger in March, won a Russian Future in April and beat Niemeyer in Queen's qualifying.

I'd assumed they were all grass courts ... this is the place where they usually hold Wimby Q, isn't it (i.e. the Bank of England sports ground at Roehampton), not the NTC at Roehampton.

on the wimby homepage it says its at roehampton and the pic is off a grass court so im guessing grass courts, plus it'd be a bit of a joke to hold qualies for the most famous grass court tournament in the world... on clay!
Good draws for Josh and Bloomers but terrible ones for all others. But you have to accept these things when you have only one direct entrant.
Machado must be feeling confident with the number of matches he has won this year, but this is his life's first ever match on grass from what I can see - in men's or Juniors. And there probably is no place in Portugal where you can play tennis on grass (so said Michelle Larcher De Brito in 2007), so there's a chance that he will be clueless tomorrow. Bloomers should take it if he is fit.
Stadler is a good grass player as he has qualified for Wimbly in the past, so he's far, far beyond Dan's level, at least officially. But you never know who turns up on the other side and Dan can give him a good match if he's playing his best tennis. It's a win-win situation, as the experience is worth more than points.
It's suicidal that the other two 1990 born players capable of mixing with top 300 players don't get WCs here.
Sorensen's game is cut out for fast courts, as shown by the fact that he won a Challenger on Carpet in Feb after qualifying, plus beat El Aynaoui in DC. Ed will need to step up big time and hope the fact that Sorensen is affected by the fact that this is his first game of the grass season.
Petzschner's a brilliant grass and carpet player from what I have heard, so it's probably a step too far for Mors. But it's worth trying and there's always the money even if he gets no point.
