I've always wondered as to why British players hardly ever do Futures in Germany. confused.gif

Good luck, Pierre!

So that's not just my imagination. I don't know either. They're supposed to be well run, possibly quite strong though and a lot of them are on clay.

Yes that does seem very strange, many of the German tournaments are '+H' so offer good points and hospitality, plus by playing regularly in Germany you could also play in the German Bundesliga, a good opportunity to make money and play against good players. But maybe it is the strength of the tournaments there that actually puts people off, not the easiest of places to pick up points perhaps.

They are strong, but French ones are often as strong and we have players in those once in a while.

It's weird! People are prepared to go to Turkey (not again, please...) or Portugal for 128 draw qualies. People are prepared to go to Thailand or India or Venezuela which are far off. But people rarely go to Germany which is just a hop across the sea. confused.gif

Seems to be a bit of confusion about the Nationality of Pierre Clad

The ATP have him down as a Brit where as the Tournament website, which includes live scoring! has him as a Frenchman

Pretty amazing though that a $15k future can have a pretty professional website with live scoring and we can't even manage that for an event such as surbiton

That's one of the ways in which the German Futures and Challengers are well run. They also tend to have good facilities for spectators.
