3 MP's now.... and she takes the first of them.

Kleybanova wins 6-4, 6-4.

Good effort from Mel, but very poor to get broken at 4-5 twice, both times after breaking back.

Are we sure this wasn't actually an advanced choking contest? (in which case Mel would have won and Kleybanova would be the plucky loser who tried hard but just came up short)

Difficult to know what to say. Mel got more games than I expected yet conceded her serve at 4-5 each time without much of a fight.

Have to say that both Kleybanova and Wickmayer are miles out of Mel's league so it was probably more a case of K turning on the power when she needed it. It is one thing beating a top 50 player who isn't that comfortable on the grass but beating a fast rising top 50 player who is both on form and comfortable on grass is not going to happen very often for the brits.

Bally & Naomi lost their doubles match 7-6(2), 6-0 yesterday, but at least it shows Bally is fit enough to play Wimbledon it seems.
