I thought I would set up a separate thread for the main draw, like for the men in Nottingham, as this will get lost amongst the  scoring for the qualies. The draws for Katie and  Mel could certainly have been worse.

probably best possible draw for Mel.....remember that amazing win over Molik she had last year, these courts should bring back good memories......unfortunately if she wins Azarenka (who's ranked 16 and has been top 10) should be too strong but that's life in these events !!!

how crazy is it that the beeb don't start covering till Thursday !

very tough for Katie, Stosur has one of the most natural grass court games in this field.....huge leftie serve.....hopefully her poor recent form will mean the baseline game is a little ragged
