Disappointing from Amanda considering her recent form and good draw. Her serve was very good on Monday, but not up to the mark today (12 dfs) and she will need it back to progress at Roehampton.

I'm frankly surprised that Anna is so competitive with someone who beat Bally in straight sets on Monday, and has found her form on grass.

Please lets not hear didnt she do well. She lost and she should have won, regardless of experiance and ranking.

I saw all three matches scored on here....Georgie's opponent was a big hitter who blew hot and cold.... when Kanepi was playing well she took 10 games out of 11 but Georgie pushed her to the limit in coming back to 5-5 in the final. Even the final game went to three or four advantages and Georgie had 2 of them for 6- 6 ...the only bad moment was the service game at 5-5 which was lost a bit easily. Amanda won the first set easily and forcefully and I left to watch Anna and was very surprised by Amanda's loss but cannot comment. Anna was scurrying around the court trying to keep up with an opponent who had a wide variety of shots and was hitting the lines very well. She competed well for most of the match and most games were close. Elena seemed injured after her match and received lengthy treatment on her left calf before limping away with two people supporting her...wonder if she will be fit for tomorrow ...none of the Brits I saw was either outclassed or choked.

I feel more aggrived by Amandas loss than any of the others. Shes been on fire recently and was playing someone on grass alomst all the brits in the draw should beat comfortably.

It seems as if her serve deserted her today, and normally if one of your strengh goes you loose confidence in the rest of your game.

Fitzy has a near perfect game for grass. Great serve which she can slice out wide on the deuce side. Good mover and her forehand is pretty deceptive and she gets good angles off it. Grass is a surafce she will always do well on. She won her first title on it a couple of years ago from no where really. And as she isn't affraid of coming into the net its all good.

A fairly poor set of results but, in truth, every brits looked pretty good out there. Unlike in the 2006 qualies none of them appeared out of their depth - indeed, the best quality tennis I saw was probably in the Baltacha/Cavaday match. I'd have loved to see Cavaday play Kanepi in place of Stoop.

If you want to see some pics of the british girls today check out http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/26848333 . They're in no particular order. Sorry.

You do realise there isn't just the one player on court. Surely the player with the highest ranking is the one that "should" have won. What do you think fans of the other player would have been saying if she did win? Believe it or not mate, there are TWO players on the court trying to win and only one can. The one with higher ranking/more experience is more likely to win. Very simple really

Welcome to the forum, Pat51. smile.gif Thanks for the report there, although that's bad news regarding Bally. Hope she won't risk anything as points defended or not, the money from Wimbly could fund a few trips for her.

And some of the pics are of stunning quality, RedCabbage! Nice camera/skills/camera and skills you've got there.
