Fitzy gave a walkover. cry.gif Probably because he doesn't want to play two tourneys back to back - hope there wasn't any injury involved.

Liam Broady played this, I just noticed. He lost badly, but who cares! It's a good experience for him and he should keep attempting these. smile.gif

Good win for Tiny there against McCullough. Does your game suit the grass?

Ooh, I thought that he would have given a walkover with his Nottingham involvement, where he did well to take a top 100 player to a tiebreaker.

Anyway, bigger congrats because he played two tournaments in the same day!

Did he not play Hallmashire on Friday but it just wasn't updated for a day?

Not impossible. But that would mean the LTA updated the results between the day's play, which is sort of unlikely. Of course, it is possible that they forgot about the final's result till yesterday!

We'll have to ask him but I reckon Geroge and his coaches would not have wanted him to play British Tour and ATP qualifying on the same day. In fact I'd go so far as to say should not have wanted it either.

But thy are the experts, not me!

Big George played the final Saturday morning at 9am, was a match point down having lost serve at 1-6 5-5 but turned it around to win in 3 sets.
Perfect preparations for Nottingham as far as confidence went, although could have not worked out that way.
George played well in stages against Kunitsyn, especially in the second set where he started to find the corners with his serve, I just wish he could have the chance to serve for the second again at 6-5, I fully believe he would have won had he taken that game/set.
Great experience for him though, i'm sure it will boost his confidence further going in to the British futures grass court swing. smile
