Is it me, or has anyone else noticed that all our Brits players on TV this week dont seem to have much meat on them? I was watching Andy's game (blinked and missed most of it) and then before Rich's game they showed Rafa warming up and doing that sit down thing by the net. Then they showed Novak Djokovic and these guys are much more physical than our lads. Our lads seem to be fit, but maybe a work on the biceps etc would help them.
Rich and Josh have some hard shots, but if they bulked up a bit they would be even more dangerous. I think one prob is they feel pressured to have to travel constantly to make money and cant get to gym. But look at our players in Ward, Bloomfield, Murray J and A etc and they are all similar phsyique.
This is no dig at the players, but maybe a few sessions in the gym might improve their games
While what impact it can have on any individual's game is tough to say, I think what you say is definitely correct for the general case as better biceps can only help in your shot making.
But this is not the time - maybe in the off season.
I can't help picturing all the Brits with their heads superimposed on Nadal's body in my head.
Yes, nice site too, just the right amount of info to make it easy to update without becoming a chore. He could do with not using green text for his wins on a green background though - it makes them fade away compared to the losses!

you dont need to wait til the off season to do fitness work like that. it should be something that is done in between tournaments and can go on all year round
Of course I agree that they can work a bit when they're in GB, but I'm not sure if working for a week, then taking a month off and then working for a week and so on will help too much. But then I am not even a gym enthusiast, forget fitness specialist, so I don't know much in this field...
its a fine line, of course they do gym work during the season, but they cant over do it as then they will struggle to compete. the best time is the off season or do what JB did last year and take a chunk of time off, normally the clay season, for pure training.
as for why british players tend to be small, i am sure there are a lot of reasons, a few that spring to mind are the lack of heavy clay training at young age to build up the muscles. also maybe the bigger lads will go into rugby/football etc.
