Looks like Boggo and Bloomers will be doing Newport qualies? Baker will be in Winnetka, the US.

Looks like most of the Brits will be in qualifying here, as the only reason not to would be either playing a futures, or still be involved in Wimbledon in the doubles somehow (or going to Newport, but with a 16 player Q Draw, including 3 WC's, I don't know what the cut would be)

Surprised Boggo isn't here, but maybe he wants a week off or just doesn't want to play this event.

Boggo will have to take the next one off, too, unless he wants to do Newport (which Count says he won't) or a Futures.

Ward is also on the qualies list for Winnetka, by the way. Although I guess he'll be here.

Jonny Marray is two places off a direct entry, with the SE spots cleared.

People who may withdraw -

Zverev (retired against Stan Wawrinka yesterday).
Petzschner (still in Wimbly doubles).
Clement (still in Wimbly singles).

Sorensen is out. cry.gif His injury looks serious, then.

Dam just when his time of the year comes around he gets injured and after making a good boost in his singles ranking he will drop again which is a real shame :( Hopefully he will be fit for davis cup.

Yes. cry.gif Hopefully he'll go for Newport qualies as he could do well there.

Jonny is now in, as Clement and Stadler withdraw. smile.gif Slabba needs four more.

Clement and Peya, both won. I guess that's them out as you can't play two main draw matches in different tourneys in the same week?

Slabba probably got in as Juska and Klec were after him.

Theres a few Brits led by Bloomers and Skupsk who could both get through. With at least three in the main draw, plus these one or two, plus Jamie Baker in the states, plus maybe Ward in Spain.....we've not had so much interest at Challenger level for ages. Fingers crossed the above make it through.

I dont think this tournament offers hospitality btw. I think its a straight $75k.

The Times says http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/tennis/article4232403.ece) that Chris Eaton "pulled out of his next tournament, in Dublin this week, mentally rather than physically drained by the run through qualifying and into the second round of Wimbledon that earned him the biggest pay cheque of his young life and honorary membership of that lucrative but dangerous club, the great British tennis hope."

The Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtml?xml=/sport/2008/06/28/stdiar128.xml) has a different take on it, given that Chris has been offered a double page spread in 'Hello': "Eaton now faces a dilemma, which kind of sums up British tennis: to pose in Hello!, or play some tennis, at a futures event in Ireland. Let's hope he doesn't follow all those Brits who sparkled at Wimbers, before disappearing: a case of Hello - and goodbye... "
