RE: Week 24 - ATP - Queen's Club (doubles)

4-2 down in the second set now, as Mirnyi was broken at 2-2.

They wasted 2 break pont at 1-2 and 3 at 3-2 though, so should really have broken back.

Murray holds now, so *4-3 down in set 2

You're not the only one keeping tabs on this match, FD! wink  Although Jamie & Max had two break points in the 6th game of the second set, after going down a break, they were unable to convert either to draw level, so it's now 3-4* & beginning to look as though it will go to a MTB! hmm

And you are right, as Butorac and Ram win the 2nd 6-4.

And Ram double faults to give them a second break, as they change over *1-5 up

They then win both points on the B/R serve to lead *8-3.... and then Murray serves the match out

Murray/Mirnyi win 7-6(7), 4-6, 10-3

Phew!  Another close-run thing:  7-6(7) 4-6 [10-3]! clap.gif  They must be playing the MTBs better! smile  Nevertheless, they're through to the SF against Melo & Sa! thumbsup.gif

Do you think they think it's compulsory to go to a MTB? rofl.gif

Good win for them today with a great comeback in the first set TB and then ignored the fact they blew all the break points in the second set to roll through the MTB very easily.

Interesting to note than Mirnyi was the man broken today, and he dropped their only point on serve in the MTB, so for once it looks like Jamie was the better server which is good to see him stepping up when Max's serve isn't quite at it's best.

Need to improve on the 2nd serve though, winning just 44%, but 90% points won on the 1st serve is very impressive and won't lose you many matches.

Up next is Sa/Melo, who are a rare breed.... grass loving Brazillians, and this is by far their best surface - they reached Wimbledon SF's last year, including the mammoth 28-26 win over Hanley/Paes (I think), and won 3 match in the 5th set as well. Will be a tough match against them, but a great chance of an ATP final here.

Fourth & final match on the centre court tomorrow, with play in the first singles SF due to get under way at 1.15.  Is the Beeb ever going to give us some doubles coverage in this tournament? steaming.gif

No coverage of the doubles today, but the Radio Times states that the doubles final will be shown on BBC Interactive, so hope of seeing them tomorrow.

3-2 down on serve at the moment, with Nestor/Ziminjic the opponents in the final

Murray gets broken at 3-4, so Melo/Sa will serve for the first set.... which they do to win it 6-3
