RE: Week 24 - Queen's Club ATP - London

James Ward will play Ivo Klec by the way, maybe more tired after Ward plays 1 set but Klex plays 3

so QR2

Bloomers vs Stadler - played each other often but Bloomers should have the edge on grass

Slabba vs Danai Udomchoke - a player I would compare to Muller.

Ward vs Klec - know nothing of him but he beat Lugassy fairly easily in the end

Stadler knocks out top seed Soeda and now plays Bloomfield

Just seen there are now no seeds in top half of draw so great opportunity for the Brits

QR1: (WC) Alex Slabinsky WR 334 beat (q2) Gilles Muller (LUX) WR 125 by 7-6(1) 7-6(8) biggrin
QR1: (WC) Richard Bloomfield WR 376 beat Harel Levy (ISR) WR 159 by 4 & 3 biggrin
QR1: (WC) James Ward WR 488 beat (q6) Stephane Bohli (SUI) WR 144 by 7-5 ret. biggrin

I thought we'd get one win between the three of them if we were very lucky, but they didn't even drop a set between them! biggrin

QR2: (WC) Alex Slabinsky WR 334 v Danai Udomchoke (THA) WR 182
QR2: (WC) Richard Bloomfield WR 376 v Simon Stadler (GER) WR 168, who took out the no. 1 seed Soeda in QR1
QR2: (WC) James Ward WR 488 v Ivo Klec (CZE) WR 266

Going by rankings, these are all easier than the QR1 matches, but their opponents are still the favourites to win.

Richard at least has some chance, I guess. smile.gif The other two... well, they probably have never felt so confident for a few years, so who knows.

It's sad that they get nothing for their wins. cry.gif The ATP ranking system is totally thrash and instead of bickering about which cities should keep their tournaments, the players' council should push for things like these.

That's true, but the loudest voices among the players are those who never have to play qualifying.

That's got to be wrong though - he's lower-ranked than the last DA.

From the Count:

"It's been good. Saw Slabba who was really good and now watching Jamie who is holding his own ok, although Kubot not that great."

Alas, after doing so well for 45 minutes, Jamie gets broken to love and loses the set 5-7. cry.gif

Come on, gather yourself. please.gif
