Not really a ridiculous argument - 10 points to anyone outside of the top 600 (actually even higher) goes a lot further in terms of rankings than to someone who already has 1000+ points. Its a little more subjective than you seem to have suggested. Someone who is in the draw through right of their own ranking/ qualifying could be perceived to be more deserving of lucky points than a wildcard. (Not necessarily my opinion I hasten to add).
But in this case, I would not have given one to someone at Daniel Evan's level. I am sure that Andy was higher ranked, plus he had clearly great potential, before he got any WC entry into an ATP tournament.
Yes, that is the whole point - why did the LTA even allow him take one? Is it his fault - nope, not at all and this will even help him a bit (not just the money).
OK, but try not to fling accusations of "ridiculous arguement " about when as more than one of us have pointed out the potential ranking points matter a heck of a lot more to Daniel Evans than they do to Andy Murray ( who is in the tournament by right anyway ).
it does, but the points dont stay on forever, if he has no potential then he wont captialise on his increased ranking and then they will be gone, therefore it is kind of pointless
Bloomers has had advantage three or four times in this service, and at least 2 of them he double faulted on. It's 5-5 btw

OK, game point again after a nice drop shot. Can he put a serve in this time?
Missed the first..
Ooh, LET on the second...
And misses the second...
Just ridiculous

Here we go again, Game point after a Gonzo backhand goes long. Crowd are trying very hard (as far as Queens crowds go) to get Bloomers going.
And he pounds a first serve, Gonzo goes long a couple of shots later, and Bloomers is guaranteed a tiebreak at 6-5*

There was either 4 or 5 double faults in that game from Bloomfield. Quite an extraordinary game really.. He eventually won it though and now leads 6-5*
