To everyone going to qualies over the weekend - have fun!

I have tickets for Monday and Tuesday - Monday is looking a bit dodgy at the moment due to work issues but I'm determined to get there for all sorts of reasons.

If you're going to be there one of those days, especially Tuesday when I'm likely to have more time on my hands, feel free to pm me your mobile number and I'll pm mine back and make sure I get in touch.

u missed 1 m-j-d....

James Ward plays Bohli 1st on court 9

can't believe how strong the qualies draw is.....absolutely loaded. Slabba says cut is 268 so they all required wcs.....possibility none could make it past rd1.....gotta hope that Slabba can take advantage of Muller's poor recent form

Last years cut was 1067 and TWELVE Brits made it in alongside another 4 wilds cards making up exactly half the draw. This year its just the 4 wild cards!

tough draw for slabba but i'm sure he's got more grass court experience. there's so many good matches on at 10am! I'm torn between watching slabba (which will probably be the best quality match imo) or bloomers and i also really want to see james ward play!

Jamie Murray has a shot, kubot doesn't seem to like grass much, he's barely played on the stuff!

And it's crazy about the cut being so low this year, i bet they weren't expecting to have to all have wc's..

Halle's qualies cut is 1016, but all eight seeds are still in the worlds top 188

Apologies for missing James Ward - Nothing personal, just bat-sighted!

*THAT* WC turns out to be a scandalous waste after all. furious Perhaps some of our boys should have gone to Halle and signed in there, but I guess they couldn't have foreseen this.

The saddest thing is that with things like this and the removal of the second post-Wimby grass court Challenger, lots of our players are going to be lucky to get any grass court points at all. cry

A pity for those going that the GB singles players are all on at once too - you might have to run over the top between courts 1 and 2 quite a bit!

Here they are with relative rankings:

QR1: (WC) Alex Slabinsky WR 334 v (q2) Gilles Muller (LUX) WR 125
QR1: (WC) Richard Bloomfield WR 376 v Harel Levy (ISR) WR 159
QR1: (WC) James Ward WR 488 v (q6) Stephane Bohli (SUI) WR 144
QR1: (WC) Jamie Murray UNR v Lukasz Kubot (POL) WR 202

I'll put some H2H-based previews on the Queen's thread in the men's section.
