Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
Just bumping this up as it had disappeared off the first page. . .
Does anybody else have problems with the search function on this site? When I tried searching for "week 29" or "Indianapolis", all I got were 2007 threads. I just had to hunt for it.
Activeboard is rubbish in whole! Still, they are improving and it is far more sophisticated than it was when I first joined this site.
Madeline, it often works better in the 'Advanced Search' option. No guarantee of success, but you sometimes get more matches there.
Anyway, Roddick may just take a WC into this. He lost early in Wimbly and he will go into the Masters without having played a single Tour match for a while otherwise.
I was just going to say, "Oh no, if Roddick gets a WC, Andy will drop down to #3 seed - but then I realised he is now above Blake in the rankings . . .
Blake has Cincinati masters finals points to defend ( lost in the finals to Federer last year). I have my doubts that he will defend them as Nadal has a couple hard court wins against him now ( after previously struggling against Blake) and Federer has always had his number. Nevermind the many others that could beat him ( including Murray)/
Murray has no points to defend there. So it is most likely Murray will pass Blake after Cincinati.
So Cincinati masters points is the main reason Blake has a lead right now.
First 4 seeds get a bye here so Andy only needs 4 wins for the title!!
It's a ridiculous system to cut the draws to 28 players... all this talk from the ATP about making sure the fans get to the see the top players play, and then they mean they only have 4 instead of 5 chances to see them.
(and Igor Kunitsyn gets a bye in Newport this week....)
