I have to say, I don't think Jamie should get a WC, if he wants to try his hand at singles on a regular basis then great, but he is doing it because he is in a good position following last years mixed success, for which you can't blame him! I would offer him a spot in the WC playoff & see how much he really does want to make his dream come true!!! It would be unfair & totally demotivate the guys who have worked their butts off & played singles all year to see Jamie walk right in & take a WC off the back of winning an exhibition event last year. The Murrays are getting a reputation of being bullet proof within the LTA, & this will only add fuel to any potential fire!!

I have seen Jamie play singles on clay in edinburgh. His game has come on since then but he gave up playing singles because his ranking was nothing startling and i think fed up of playing 10k tournaments. Personally though he won Wimbledon Mixed I dont think he should get a wildcard he is not good enough in singles. He should make a concentrated effort to resume playing singles and see how it goes! Mind you wimbledon keep giving Cara Black wc in singles so who knows!
However one mustn't forget that Black reached 31 in the world singles rankings so she is obviously a very capable and proven singles player regardless of how long ago her CH was whilst on the other hand you have Jamie who would have struggled to have ever gotten much higher than the top 400 in singles [based on what I've read]; so they're too completely different cases really.
No, Jamie should not get a wild card. His talent lies in doubles and not singles. There are other players who have worked hard in singles who should be rewarded first. If he wants to play then he should get down to Roehampton and qualify.
According to Jamie's website (dropped into an artcile about him losing the mixed dubs at the French) he has been given a qualifying wildcard into Queens.
Whilst I'm not 100% happy about that decision, it is infinitely better than him getting a maindraw card. And it will do one of two things, either prove that he deserves a wimbers WC, OR (and this is the outcome I'm expecting) prove that he doesn't.

Qualifying wild card into Queen's is well deserved and a good thing, too. This way, they'll attract some more people to qualies, Jamie has a shot at singles, and someone deserving doesn't lose his wild card.
