Jamie and Liezel take to the court tomorrow, 3rd match on Chatrier. [...] Their opponents, as yet unknown, they don't play until earlier tomorrow. With a bit of luck whichever of the two pairs win that particular tussle will be a tad tired for the next encounter.
Only trouble with that argument is that Liezel could well be tired, too. She & Cara Black (ZIM) are the top seeds in the women's doubles & they're currently engaged in something of a battle with the Spanish 10th seeds, Anabel Medina Garrigues & Virginia Ruana Pascal, in the other WD SF. They clawed their way back from something like 0-4 in the first set, only to lose it 4-6 in 46 minutes, which is of course longer than some entire women's matches! Let's hope that, if they are to come back & win the damn' match, they wrap up the next two sets quickly or, if they lose the next set (& thus the match), they don't take so long about it &, if they do lose it, it provides Liezel with the spur to go one better with Jamie in the mixed...

Perhaps unsurprisingly, those opponents will be the third seeds, Azarenka & Bob Bryan, who've just beaten Uhlirova & Fyrstenberg 7-6(5) 6-3. J&L are not going to have an easy time of it by any stretch of the imagination!
Couldn't do it. Not the best idea in the world to give the other team a 6-0 start.I wonder if the long wait for this match and the fact that A&B had warmed up earlier played any part in the downfall - possibly.
Ah well! 'Twas nice while it lasted. Over to the juniors now: Jade Curtis & Nikola Hofmanova (AUT) in the girls' doubles & the two Dans (Evans & Smethurst) in the boys'...
