RE: The Boodles Challenge 2008.

I can hardly wait.

Watching a few glorified practice sessions along with some "real fans" - you know, the kind of people that might spend £250,000 on the (ahem) "Ultimate in Entertaining" for 20 people. I kid you not.

However, you do get a "Wimbledon Champion" to host your table at lunch. Do you think that they take requests NOT to have Pat Cash?

Actually, Pat would be preferable to Virginia Wade. But it would be close.

This one is a must see for all.

Please...please... don't tell me that there are people in this world who have actually bought this package.

Presumably this will be the last year for Boodles as the LTA have moved the Nottingham event to Eastbourne in order to attract top players. Therefore Murray, Djoko et al will now play there. Yeah right!

The thing is... even if moves to Eastbourne, it'll still remain an LTA event (most probably). So unless they get some other financial backer, top players won't come, just like we almost never have top 10 players in Nottingham.

not only that, most of the top 10 don't really want to play the week before Wimbledon unless they're on a bad run......its a bit like Dusseldorf before RG and New Haven before US Open, they rarely get the top players

Yes, but you would think people like Nole might agree if they were given enough cash.

Nole is playing here (okay, it's an exho but still you play matches) and given that he should reach the Roland Garros semis, at least, and then has Queen's, he probably doesn't care about being tired if he's paid enough.

Thank God they don't pay money at Nottingham to get big players. I find appearence money pointless - if all the tournaments got together it could be abolished easily.

He is fit to play and fit for Wimbledon.

I'm impressed to learn that Muzza fought off the pressure to have a cortisone injection in his wrist just to play Wimby last year.
