He is now ranked 551 to Kasiri's 600 odd but because the points take so long to register on the rankings his old ranking is still on the qualies/draw sheet/entry list and that's probably why they drew the main draw without him as they didn't think he would be seeded.
On reflection it is probably fair. I was confusing myslef with current ranking vs draw sheet ranking.
At least Ken should win his first round match and get another ranking point which should always be the first target in the week.
Klein in round 2 won't be an easy match at all, and he'll probably lose, but it will be good to see what he's learnt from last week (and if he does lose he can fly back to Surbiton and play there)
the tournament wasn't originally in his schedule. It was his only way in.
It works both ways Jonny...Priddle got through 2 QR's only to be faced with the highest ranked player in the final QR....and I mean higher than anyone in the MD !!! So he turned up late or whatever...and our Brit guy is unfairly playing a main draw no 1 seed...in qualies.
Oh dear, I clearly overestimated Miles when I said "Let's hope even 2008 Miles can't lose this one ..." - ever since that default against Ball, he's been dreadful.
Just a reminder, that's:
L32: (7) Miles Kasiri WR 609 lost to Harshana Godamanne (SRI) WR 1057 by 1-6 7-5 6-4
I'll resist the temptation to say God (d)amanne-it! (oops, too late )
By the way, Ken's FQR result wasn't up when I posted, all I knew was that he was on the main draw as a Q rather than a LL. A nice double bagel, anyway
Apologies for misleading people about whether Ken would have been seeded had they waited - somebody said the other day he would be and with all that pick 'em stuff to sort out, I didn't have time to check the exact rankings.

The LL is the same player as Ken beat in R1 last week, when the score was 6-1 3-1 ret! Vukov claims to be coached by Pato Alvarez - wasn't he Andy's coach before Petch?
L32: (Q) Ken Skupski WR 551 beat (LL) Stefano Vukov (CRO) WR 1810 by 0 & 1
L16: (Q) Ken Skupski WR 551 v (4) Brydan Klein (AUS) WR 429
Can Ken avenge his $ & 2 defeat by Klein in the QFs last week? Somehow I doubt it, if it was that one-sided a week ago.

Disappointing from both Ken and Miles to be honest - disappointing for Ken to finally lose a game after 5 successive bagel sets, but very disappointing for Miles to lose again as his second round match would have been a gift as well and would have given him a much needed QF appearance to get the confidence and the ranking up.
Don't see Ken beating Klein unfortunately, but as long as he wins 6 games or more he's showing progress, and at least we know he's in a run of good form at the moment
I dont understand why Miles is getting such bad results, i know hes never going to be a world beater but he surely must fancy himself against this kind of opponent!
