Pics wins but Wawrinka loses. That means I now have two of my quarterfinalists out - Tipsy and Stani. cry.gif Still... I'm alive in this as long as Djoko stays.

Davydenko is a break up in the first. smile.gif

So BT need the following to win today - Robredo, Wawrinka, Soderlin, Monfils and Ljubo.

N.B. There may be errors of 1 pick here or there. I'm obsessed with this, but still not so obsessed that I'll review my calculations!

Nice analysis, Greenleaf. But it's oops and double oops so far.

I feel your pain, having lost those two and indeed having lost virtually ever match that mattered since two days ago when I was 2nd= cry - I just said goodbye to the top 50 thanks to Wawrinka's epic choke. furious

Rock on had a 3-0 record onclay against Count Duckula so to lose to him, let along that cheaply, is astonishing.

Anyone with any experience of these comps should be carted off to an institution for the criminally insane for picking Gonzo to win today, but instead they got 3 points. (and not on their driving licence, either!) bleh

I feel Liz's pain too - that Paul-Henri Tankieu win yesterday was a stinker! doh

Gosh, sounds like we have similar picks.  I was sitting rather comfortably in my chair when Stani went two sets up, pretty bummed out that he couldn't finish it off [especially as I don't particularly like Gonzo]

Here's hoping for a Djokovic/Federer final!

Yes, James - our picks from quarters onwards are totally same except that you have Kolya beating Ferrer!

And Davydenko lost to Ljubicic. cry.gif I go down by 31 places today to 124, and all my hopes now rest on Djokovic.

BT lost to CC, by the way. cry.gif

TEAMS LEAGUE

TAT seem to have proved that the top half of the draw isn't their weak half after all, by moving up another place to 1st, just two days after they were down in 7th. I assume the Ginepri win helped them and I know that Count Duckula's win over Stani did.

Benneteau's win at the end of the day allowed the Dammitaires, up 2 to 2nd, to yesterday's leaders Centre Court, down to 3rd place, while MTF, up 1 to 4th, complete a quartet of teams within 0.3% of each other - we're talking about a dozen individual picks covering the lot of them!

T4Y down 2 to 5th, have dropped off the pace, but only very slightly, and they are still well ahead of 6th place BT.net. AM.com and the Ducklings are both hot on BT's heels, and only separated by 0.003 points. That's about 1/10th of one person in either team's pick for a single R12 match!

Moving down to the bottom of the table, after another good day for predominantly US teams led to Tennisopolis moving up 2 to 11th, the Feddies and the Djokers are once again fighting it out for last place. They are separated by just 0.0004 points, that's about 1/100th of a single R1 pick for just one player on either team! shocked.gif

TEAMS KO

No. 1 seeds Centre Court have clearly been at ASE's infamous rhubard & ginger jam, managing to make the semis despite five of the quarter-finalists outscoring them, because their opponents BT.net did even worse. They will face the Dammitaires in the semis, after the latter beat T4Y.

In the bottom half of the draw, no. 6 seeds TAT upset no. 3 seeds the Robots (they'll set those gorillas onto them!) and will face no. 10 seeds Other Boards (steveg, etc), who upset no. 2 seeds MTF.

In the 9-16 QFs, AM.com beat the Djokers and the Ducklings beat the Feddies, the opposite of what usually happens on court in both cases, while Rusedski.co.uk suffered the ignominy of losing to Tennisopolis, despite the American team having by far the two worst entrants in the whole competition. redface.gif As you'll see from the fast risers section below though, they did have a remarkably good day.

INDIVIDUALS

Top 10

hebegeebee (IN) had his lead cut to 'just' 3 points, but stayed on top from the start of the day to the end. Linda (AM), up 3 to 2nd, and Zutoum (RG) (another French beneficiary of Benneteau's late win), up 14 to 3rd, leading the chasing pack.

Other entrants joining the top 10 today are Akhenaten (BT), up 9 to 4=, and oohsalmon (TA), up 31 to 10th.

ON THE WAY UP

Just four entrants managed to get 5/8 correct today - Zutoum (RG) (also the outright top scorer in R3 with 10/16), up 14 to 3rd, oohsalmon (TA), up 31 to 10th, davidw (TN), up 64 to 23rd, and Suttman (TN), up 88 to 201, making him the joint fastest riser of the day with Jon Pennington Pics (TN), up 88 to 166=.

ON THE WAY DOWN

10 entrants scored 1/8 or less today (the entrant in last place getting 0/8), with the biggest faller being Tom Zhang (RF), down 76 to 272nd.

OUTLOOK

As you can see from the WP SLR column, a dozen entrants still have six of their quarter-finalists surviving, ranging from the top two all the way down to Gillyflower (GR), up 27 to 214= today. Most have 4 or 5, though the bottom two have just one and three of the next four from the bottom have just two.

Interesting read as always!

Tomorrow's OOP:

PH Mathieu (1%) vs. Novak Djokovic (94%)
Fernando Verdasco (-) vs. Rafael Nadal (99%)
Ernests Gulbis (1%) vs. Michael Llodra (2%)
Jeremy Chardy (-) vs. Nicolas Almagro (23%)

I'll move up by a lot if Almagro wins and of course can't afford Nole to lose. The Gulbis vs. Llodra match can't affect my ranking by much, I guess, so it is almost dead. And obviously, I gain in the long run if Nadal loses.

Gonzo saved me in 1 section with a stunning comeback, but then Davydenko and Robredo, both QF picks go and screw it up for me...

Just Djoko and Rafa picked to win tomorrow, but seeing as I've got Federer to win this thing I won't mind too much if they lose

Although some people who were outside the top 50 at the start of the day got Gulbis right, it was Almagro beating Chardy (in three very close sets) that caused virtually all the movement in the tables today. cry.gif

TEAMS

Centre Court, up 2 to 1st, are back in the lead in the teams league - they have also opened up a gap of more than one point in their Team KO semi against BT.net. Meanwhile TAT, down 1 to 2nd but only 0.04 points behind CC, are trailing the Other Boards (steveg, etc) in their semi, but only by 0.03 points!

T4Y, up 2 to 3rd, have rejoined the top three, but the Dammitaires, down 2 to 4th, have left it. Further down the table, there are lots of small moves, with only BT.net in 6th ending the day in the same place as they started.

N.B. the 5th-16th placement semis can be found further down the Team KO results page.

INDIVIDUALS

hebegeebee (IN) has maintained his 3-point lead at the top over Linda (AM), who in turn is now 4 points clear of those behind her. Borovnia (TY), up 5 to 3rd, has displaced Zutoum (RG), down 1 to 4th, from the top three, which Jack (TA), WimbledonAce (CC), qczi (MT) and Ashley Harkleroad's ***** (CC) have all moved up 6 places to (re)join the top 10 in 5th-8th places respectively.

All of those entrants in the top 8 except Zutoum tied with about 70 others for top score of the day with 12/16 and Almagro-pickers now dominate the top 50.

ON THE MOVE

The highest climber on the day was another of those who got 3/4 correct today - SarahEva (JM) moves up 61 to 159th.

The biggest faller was one of the few entrants who didn't pick both Rafa and Nole to reach the semis, mysterX (TA) dropping 71 to 146th.

POST OF THE DAY

I haven't had much time to view the other boards today, but here are a few from Centre Court, always a good source!

nevets: "I think the big problem for me is that I keep predicting the matches wrong." - quite!

trisco: "I'm too drubnk to ackonwodlweage thje fact we ahev lost quier d a fwew wplaces.. Although I will, from 1st toi 3rd. Not haooy, I have bben out on a schololls reunions, peoole I ain't seen for 15 years but I was more bothrtrered about losign the BOTBTb statsuss" - getting some of his priorities right, at least!

nevets (again): "I've found BOTB has taken over my life. It has taken priority over my history exam" - reminds me to add that we take no responsibility for failed exams, loss of friends (see last quote and next one), etc

SaraLess: "We managed to quickly see the end of Davydenkos miserable match. Am pretty sure our friends thought I'd lost the plot by chuntering away about predictions and wanting to flush Davydenko down the toilet." - no comment!

Dinky Jo: "Well i had to explain to my dad why i was cheering on Stan ("no dad, it's not 'cos he's good looking....it's 'cos i predicted him to win!") and then when davydenko lost he said "bet you didn't predict that did you".....he's lucky he was paying for dinner and i didn't throw anything at him" - lucky indeed!

Also, a late entrant:

Drew (BT): "I cant believe you never mentioned my meteoric rise up today !!!! (Up one to 314 shhhh)"
