Rubbish Wildcards all round, i don't think yoshi and Boggo really deserve the wc's but there really isn't anyone else to give them to is there.

If only someone would be able to justify (or even try to jusify) these pointless wild cards...

Yeah, I agree, Matt. Boggo and Goodall haven't done much but if they haven't, then who has?

Hopefully Rich will do well in Surbiton and get one. I'd prefer Marray to qualify since he needs more practice and the points will make a lot of difference to his ranking.

Think he's used up his PR as he didn't use it for Roland Garros or Wimbledon, events you would have expected him to play if he could.

At least 2 Brits have got WC's and hopefully the 3rd goes to Bloomers (or another Brit), but I'm not convinced that it will, although there aren't too many players who I can think of who they'd give a WC to

Maybe a QWC for Surby, but not for Queen's, I wouldn't think. Even doubling his points this week wouldn't get him into the top 800 and it's clay he's doing well on anyway. Also, if the LTA were even thinking of giving him WCs and trumpeting him as an up and coming player, you'd think they'd have mentioned his Final last week on their site by now ... (ok, you'd think they would have anyway, I know)

Alex may not need a qualies WC and James will almost surely not need one. Qualies cut was 1190ish last year - I remember Coxy was the last man (boy) in. This year it shouldn't be very high given that there's an extra event that week.

In regards to the WC decision I think it's probably right that none of the other brits get one (yet). Giving WCs to Brits just becuase they're Brits is actually counter-productive as all it results in is a loss and the media jumping onto the 'we can't win anything' bandwagon again. Having said that, I think Wimbledon is a different kettle of fish and more should be given there.

Also, Malisse???? Bjorkman sure, he's a good grass courter, and well liked as well. But Malisse?

My guess is that the remaining wildcard will go to an up-and-coming Austrian player. (based on the Cilic evidence of last year

I just hate this tournament and hope it ends soon. Then we could have another LTA event instead with wild cards that are far, far more sensible.

Well... I love it for one thing. Don't get me wrong, of course I'd prefer it if Rich got it, but frankly it's more likely that it'll go to a non-Brit and anyone is better than a foreigner.

And I've always said out here that Jamie should restart his singles career.

Many top doubles players - Ram, Zimonjic etc. play Futures in their free time. Imagine how good it would be if Jamie turned out for a Futures in Scotland!!
