That's a bad day at the office for Anne - judging by the number of missed bps perhaps the pressure of added expectation got to her. The end result anyway is that Katie is left flying the flag for the third time in the last 4 slams.
Barrois is underranked, having missed 4 months last year, with a good win-loss ratio recently and a more impressive clay-court pedigree than Katie. I would say therefore that Katie is the underdog, but certainly has a chance.
Not the most encouraging day for our girls. In fact, pretty disappointing. But onwards and upwards (hopefully). Let's forget the clay (how often do we have to say that? I don't think we should have to say it so often, grr at brits who can't play on clay), the grass is next!!
I haven't forgotten Katie, nice to see her win easily and hope she emulates that tomorrow but based on the rest of today's matches, not holding my breath.
