RE: Week 21 - French Open Grand Slam Qualifying - Paris

I wonder what's happened in the Cavaday match, the score's been stuck for ages.

Elena has gone down 0 & 4, the score in Naomi's match has still not moved.

bleh

If there is an injury, it's probably slightly more likely to be Naomi, who lost the last recorded point and was down in the match anyway.

Naomi loses 3 & 5 cry

Not a great day so far, but if Anne doesn't slip up and we have two in QR2, it'll be better than usual ... though whether Katie would have got there had she not been playing another Brit is hard to tell.

That's a big shame with Elena and Naomi. Our girls are making good progress this year but when it then comes to a grand slam they nearly always seem to slip back a bit which is so unfortunate with the results some have been having. Let's really hope Anne can get through the opener otherwise there will defo be no way of hiding the fact that only one has made round two via an all brit clash. Come on Anne. Your top 100 now and we need you to win.

i think generally we seem to underperform at slams.

apart from andy (and tim + greg) who else has recently won a mens MD slam match? i think only bloomers who had that gift of a 1st rd draw at wimby a few years back.

perhaps its a bit of bad luck getting tough draws (i rmemebr andy got lucky getting bastl in hsi 1st wimby) but its still bad.
