May I refer you to the disclaimer I added to my post James. I think you'll find that I do not believe true seriousness is attached to this discussion, and the 25% seriousity of posts should definitely be applied to my contributions.
As for totally slamming and demoralising your ideas...what can I say? I speak only the truth, is it my fault that they left themselves so completely defenceless and open to attack?
Admittedly the names I came up with were of a little invention and were and still are so poor that they are open to attack, however I am finding it difficult to take critcism from a person who showed that the result of all of their inventivness and creativity was 'AlexW'. [p.s Im actually of the same train of thought and would be completely satisfied with a simple name like that]
Ok.. yes you included a disclaimer and worded it so to cover all possible complaints however I have a sneaking suspicion that it was done without a scrap of sincerity, hence my response.
I am an expert in criticism and terrible at creativity. I am fully aware of the fact and consciously play to my strengths
I am shocked to the core and most distressed that you doubt my sincerity. You have wounded me so deeply that my usually trusting heart is tempted to a touch of cynicism and warns me that you will take this honest grief of mine and declare it also lacks sincerity. I am mentally preparing myself for such a blow.

I know I put a few forward, but there are some good options there. The only other suggesion is using his initials of AW and calling him AW-struck! lol
That is terrifically awful.. If I were in charge of this website you would now have your account deleted and make sure all attempts are made to block further access from your IP address.
I knew we were all sad tennis freaks (a very affectionate term, from me at least) on here but the seriousness with which this subject is being persued has taken it to new heights I think.
I have not singled you out, I have been harsh on everyone.
Harsh on everyone, eh. Love it!
And re. the first bit - this really is our saddest of sad days isn't it. Imagine poor Alex - he finds out he's got some fans and then, horror of horrors, he comes on here and finds out it's us!
P.S. Can you really not spell nickname or is that an elaborate bit of irony too?
James:
Leave me out of this! No dodgy puns / links from me on this thread. (*) Also, the reason I persisted despite knowing they are not funny is that two people said they got some amusement out of one of them the other day, so collective blame applies here. (btw even that one was so bad I can't remember what it was! )
Count: (re shooting down)
Imo doesn't rhyme with Ammo for nothing, does it? (*)
(*) Oops!

Steven: Oh no, please persist with them, I jest you only for the sake of fun [like poking a friend until they explode with anger.. you don't seem to be responding though!]
See, conclusive proof that a nickname ending in 'ie' is probably not the best idea! (sorry James)
As for my inability to spell nickname...definitely an elaborative piece of irony. Perfectly intentional. please excuse me a moment whilst I attempt to come up with an explanation of said irony.

Go and sit in the corner with Steven...
Haha I'm at home bed bound and bored so havent got much else to do at the moment lol
My oh my, this thread is getting as silly as most of the threads on the Centre Court forum during a pick 'em. Except for the lack of explicit references (e.g. I'm sure they'd have been like a dog with a bone with Bethan's comment about 'stature' - yes, that's how corrupting their influence is ...) and the absence of smileys involving whipping. (has to be seen to be believed - ooer!)
I can't help liking them though, they are now more pick 'em-obsessed than any other team, to a quite comical extent. Here's a few gems I copied from just one page of a thread during Rome.
"oh god - i can't remember my predictions but i'm pretty sure bloody gasquet shouldn't be losing NO NO NO! Pay attention Richard! You are supposed to lose to Acasuso in the NEXT round"
no matter what i predicted, bloody gasquet should not be losing..... that guy is just a nightmare......
Never again I tell you, what a loser! Gasquets about to get broken - again. *ties noose on the aircon vent for a cold death*
I hope Radek Stepanek, Ivan Ljubicic and Richard Gasquet get sucked into the engines of their planes during their flights home.
---
How did I get talked into this anyway? Didn't realise it was so.. involving
You do get consumed by it! I wake up thinking about it!!! When we first did it, the first thing Trisco did when he came online was check the BOTB [= Battle of the Boards] league tables - before even checking the results of the tennis.
---
It's got to be a good thing that we keep an eye on other players. Im not so sure it's good for my health though. And thats another tosser thats going to finish me in the predictions This is all too much
.. meanwhile, never thought I'd be urging Stepanek to serve a match out! Radek has won, thank the lord!!!!! Stepanek my first-ever BOTB point
---
I hope they lock Soderling up and throw away the key for his crimes against tennis (and my predictions)
I had del potro to win that - not bloody retire - I dont care how much he hurts - make him go back on and win!
As you can see, one thing they have in common with pick 'em entrants from all teams is getting driven up the wall by Dammit Gasquet and finding themselves caring passionately about matches they'd never previously have given two hoots about. They do get a bit more violent than most though ...
Er, now remind me, what was this thread about? And does anyone still care?
