And the Alex Ward result is....

not yet up.

Rice and Ramos-Vinolas (seeded 2) won their second round doubles match but went out in the semis to the fourth seeds Marques and Souza.

XCW4EVA practising to be the British press ... LOL

I guess he had to have an adverse reaction to all those matches sometime when he's not used to it. Didn't expect it to be today, I must admit, but then Bethan did so the hexing thing.

Of course, if 10 days ago we'd been offered an Alex Ward R1 win in Valldoreix followed by a 1 & 1 loss, we'd have thought that sounded great. smile.gif

Oh dear. Business as usual today for British tennis. Well it has been too good to be true for the last week and a half.

You say that, but more points were scored by Brits in Futures in these two weeks last year than this year - the all-Brit semi-finals in Greece F2 last year having a lot to do with it.

Hang on just a sec. I can see the reasoning to blame me for the Skupski loss (though I maintain that I didn't hex him, merely vocalised - wrote down is perhaps more accurate - what everyone else was thinking. Don't try and tell me you hadn't already looked up the points possibilities) but what on earth did I do to merit the blame for this one?

I knew I couldn't catch you out that easily, but it was worth a try.

(desperately trying to cover up the fact that I mis-remembered who you'd done the points analysis for ...)
