The qualies are moving indoors and starting at 12 I believe, Jonny is second on.

Dont know how much play FD will see outside but qualies will be finishing today come what may.

that is a quality site, really puts mine to shame doesnt it.
i still havnt go round to updating the bastl match :(

Glad you like the 'matching' sig smile.gif

Is that the Bastl match from Izmir or Sunrise? wink No, seriously, a lot of players at Challenger level don't have sites at all. I wasn't trying to suggest Boggo's site was bad by comparison, just that Fischer's is unusually good - better than some of the top 10's sites, where they've got them.

its not quite 72 years with boggo, but its getting on for 6!!

on fischer:
i wonder if he deisgned it himself, or maybe paid someone/has a in the know friend to do it? the fact the he seems to contribute a lot makes the real difference.

and to be fair boggo's site is bad by comparision biggrin.gif
i dont really know much about  websites, sheddie set that one up and i mainly just update the blog and a few other bits and pieces from time to time.
did  the bastl match now too smile

I'd assumed Come_on_Martin was in charge of the site? In any case, a "Webmaster" leaves comments on the site, so I very much doubt it's Martin himself.

I thought maybe Come_on_Martin might be in charge of the site too, or is one of his biggest fans and goes there a lot - maybe she'll tell us? However, it's pretty clear from the article I linked to that it came direct from him, maybe transcribed from a call or email and the Count's right, player input does make a big difference.

I'm still trying to translate the Diary of Martin into english... following soon :)

A friend of Martin is the webmaster of the site... (unfortunately I´m not able to things like this).

I'm not the biggest fan of Martin...
But I think I'm the girlfriend of his biggest fan :)

What's the surface indoor?

Martin wrote (http://www.martinfischer.co.at/tagebuch.php?next=0&page=1):

Diary - Luck on my side:

I had to fight hard in the second match in Surbiton.
After two saved matchpoints I won 5/7 6/2 7/5!

The qualifiers were not allowed to practice on grass today so its hard to find a good timing. But fortunately its the same for all players.

I was satisfied with the beginnig - I had a lot of returns in the field and the serve was ok 5/3. Four realy strong games of him followed .
He blocked the returns (pretty dangerous because of the low ball-drop) and went to the net very often. A lot of serve & volley but less of rythm. I lost the first set 5/7! The start oft he second set was better, and this time i didn´t gave him a chance to come back into the set 6/2. The drive of the second set I wanted to take over in the third one, but the 3 breakpoints he saved quit good. After that I was always closer to the break them he... First I had four gamepoints , than he one breakpoint 3/5.
At 40/15 (his serve) he had 2 matchpoints. I saved the first one in a very strong way.
At the second matchpoint i played a hard-pushed passing shot and he displaced the forehandvolley into the open field. That was the turn at this time I showed great points and he appeard to be paralyzed. I just got out of a tight spot.

The second match got adjourned because its raining. So the last round of qualifieng is tomorrow. I will play against Noam Okun. I didnt saw a lot of him, but i think hes in range. For me its a Bonusmatch, another one on grass...
The exact time has to be determined

Bye for now

Thanks Count, I'm already a bit sensitive about the hairline without that, but to answer your question I think they are on site if I remember correctly.

Oh really? I decided not to go today, as I wanted to see the mens quarterfinals of RG on TV. I suspected the weather may be a problem, but I didn't expect play to be called off. I kept considering going, but this has put my mind at rest. Would have been pissed off travelling 2 hours there, and 2 hours back to only miss Almagro!

Hope the tournament doesn't end up like Nottingham, and the main event being played indoors. Any ideas if press/photographers are allowed in the indoor setup?

Anyway, thanks for the update.
