was surprised big time at the Ward result today, maybe after yesterday's win he felt he'd got Eaton in the bag and wasn't so pumped up for it......the inconsistency could explain some of his on-off performances in the futures as tbh last night he looked top 200 quality, especially with that backhand
Bammy's another one who always plays better, the higher his opponent is ranked....even when he plays top 300, top 250 players, its always close. I think he'd have been up there himself if he had a better serve. He's got fabulous timing particularly on the backhand, great volleys and moves well but lacks a big shot

He looked a totally different player today except for a small period in the 2nd set where he was on fire, but other than was average in set 1 and very poor in set 3.... just lacked the weapons he had yesterday and made lots of errors.
I think Bamford will beat Eaton.... if he plays like he did today then I think he'll be able to get a hold on the serve as his returning looked top quality today, but it will probably go to 3 sets.
Barring a change in weather forecasts overnight I'll be heading up again tomorrow, as it now saying that at best no rain after 4am and at worst no rain after 10am, so even if the worst proves true they'll be some play on courts A and B at 11am (if they kept the covers on them).
If anyone else is planning on going then drop me a PM or something, and I'll be able to send in scores again like I did today, so just someone text me or post in here (before about 9ish) that they'll be able to post them.
I think I'm going to take a risk with the weather given that nowhere seems to know exactly what it is going to do. I've checked at least 3 sites this morning, but none of them match - it's either going to rain all day, has already stopped raining at 4am and won't rain for the rest of the day, or is still raining at the moment but will stop in a couple of hours, and a 4th I've checked says it will be sunny with a 0% chance of rain all day.
I'm going to go with the odds as more of them say no rain, so there should be some play today at the very least.
if you do see some play would be great if you can get scores on boggo's match lets hope he can play well.
Looks like there will be some rain then but hopefully it will clear up before play begins and play can start around 11ish.
I'll definately watch Boggo's match and given he's on an outside court I suspect Gilbert will have to sit in the stands with all the fans, and possibly all the local schoolchildren who are brought to watch the matches, which will be an experience for him.
Hope Boggo wins and I'll be cheering him on all the way!
That's an excellent site Martin's got and there's a detailed report on the Skupster match tha he appears to have filed himself - see http://www.martinfischer.co.at/tagebuch.php?next=0&page=1. I'll translate it if anyone wants me to (or maybe COME_ON-MARTIN can! ), but the facts are as reported yesterday, it's just interesting to see them from the point of view of one of the players.
He seems to be saying that the players in qualifying were not allowed to hit/practice on the courts yesterday, so they had to adjust very quickly when they got out on court.
