hopefully pless will be knackered. but it will be tough for alex, pless bt him recently indoors and leads the h2h 2-1, although all of the matches so far have invloved at least 1 tb so its close, the match al won was 76 76 :) i think he struggles to break pless's serve!
most likley pless will have too much for alex, but you never know and nice for him to get to the qf's again. perhaps find a bit of form/confidence going into the grass season.

I think that's a pretty good result for Alex at this stage, given that Lindahl is ranked only just below a (admittedly under-ranked compared to where he probably ought to be) Boggo and took out a top 150 player in the last round.
L16: Alex Bogdanovic WR 256 beat Nick Lindahl (AUS) WR 261 by 7-6(4) 3-6 6-2
QF: Alex Bogdanovic WR 256 v (3) Kristian Pless (DEN) WR 129
Alex lost to Pless 6-2 7-6(4) in the Cherbourg semis three months ago and in 2005 he lost to him 7-6(5) 6-4 in Southampton having earlier beaten him 7-6(3) 7-6(4) in Cardiff. It's about time he beat him again, if you ask me. It's a good bet there will be at least one tiebreak, though, and that whoever wins it will win the match!

i also think its a good win, i know in the past alex hasnt particuarly enjoyed his time in India (he pulled out of a futures tour there a few years back) so its good to see him fighting in these matches.
so in his last 2 challengers he has reached the qf's at least, lost to boelli who didnt drop a set in lanza, so on reflection not too bad. both of these evenst have not been with brad gilbert, which is perhaps interesting, or just conincidence?

Be a timely Booster for Alex if he can get past Pless. Maybe push back up towards the 200's in time for the grass season. After reaching 108 last year Boggo so doesn't merit being down as low as he is. Let's hope he is now starting to turn things around.
If he beats Pless without Brad having lost to him in Cherbourg with Brad, that'll add to the evidence that he wasn't reacting very well to being with Brad, which would be funny but there's a serious point too - if he folds under the influence of one of the best coaches in the world and he wasn't fulfilling his potential before that, is there any hope left for him? Then again, there was a rumour that Jamie B said no to going with Brad and he's *not* famous for buckling under pressure.

JB said he was happy with his current coaching set up and saw no reason to alter it. i am sure i read it somewhere.
its hard to say why boggo perhaps plays better when not with brad, perhaps it has nothing to so with it, and it is just a conicnicde, perhaps just taking the break from america & having a bit of time off was all that he required to refresh his brain, get a new outlook, he had been away form his family for a long time, and despite tennis players being used to this, i am sure when things are tough and its just not working out finding a bit of a refuge at home could help get the prespective back.
of course there no garuntee that this is a sign that at least he can get his year back on track, but its certainly more encourgaing than when he was bouncing from 1st rd loss to 1st rd loss a few weeks ago (and probably pancing aboput his impending plune down the rankings)

Good wins for Alex this week. If Andy found it hard being around Brad all the time, how much more so will Alex and if he's lacking confidence already, he must be under so much more pressure with a top coach on his case, even if he is supposed to be a support. Guess he's just able to relax that bit more when he's on his own. Alex seemed to get on well with Peter Lundgren - pity that relationship was cut short.
especialy considering he was pancing about that plune :)
i had a suspicion that Stevie might wind you up
good point goldfish. i posted a snippet from a lundi interview the other day and he still keeps in touch with alex, and said he may link up with him for a week later in the year.

Don't worry much about the temperature, Count. The heat should bother a Dane more than a Brit who has been training in Florida recently (although I don't know where Pless trains) so I won't be surprised if Boggo won.
Good couple of wins for Alex here and it looks like he is having a good shot at turning this season around with a couple of QFs in a row and he has a chance against Pless who hasn't looked that good in the first couple of rounds
Still don't see why he's only come for India for 1 week rather than the 2nd challenger as well, but if he's only going to be here for 1 week, he may as well make it count and win the title
