I've always had difficultly spelling tennis racket/racquet. I hadn't realised it was becuase no one can decide which is the correct version.
So, I thought I'd find the definitive answer and look it up in the OED (at this point it should perhaps be mentioned that I'm in the midst of finals and any distraction is a welcome one). According to that source, 'Racket' is the correct spelling, in reference to: "A bat used in the games of rackets, tennis, etc., consisting of a network of cord or catgut stretched across a somewhat elliptical frame formed of a bent strip of wood, metal, etc., to the base of which a handle is attached."
That would suggest that Racquet is the American version of the word.
Back to the tennis, do we yet know Aucks and Delgy's opponents in the second round?

Another win for our doubles boys: 6-4 3-6 [10-8] to Aucks & Delgo!
Good win there for the A & D duo. Don't know who they will play next but it'll be tomorrow, last match on court 1.
The fourth seeds, Rubén Ramírez Hidalgo & Bruno Soares (ESP/BRA)! I thought at one point it was going to be Gabashvili & Menéndez, as they were leading 8-4 in the MTB, but the next time I checked, they'd turned it round!
According to the draw on ATP and the OOP, it was Gabashvile and Menendez.
I've found it a complete & utter waste of time to check the ATP site so far this week, as the doubles draw sheet has always been blank. Somebody must finally have got his/her @rse in gear in Marrakech & passed on the data! The result I quoted earlier was as reported on the tournament site. Needless to say, that has now been been amended & Aucks & Delgo will indeed be playing Teimuraz Gabashvili & Adrián Menéndez (RUS/ESP) in tomorrow's QF.
According to the draw on ATP and the OOP, it was Gabashvile and Menendez.
Who they duly saw off 6-4 6-4. They will play Fornell and Ouahabi (ESP/MAR) in the SF. F and O beat the top seeds Levinsky and Skoch in the QF, so are not to be underestimated but I have faith.

You win some, you lose some! At least one of our pairs won yesterday! Good on Aucks & Delgo! I have faith, too!
Been trying to work that one out myself, especially as the result of the other doubles SF, scheduled to be played after theirs, in which Gil & Margea (POR/ROU) took on the third seeds, Brunstrom & Cerretani (SWE/USA), is now up (G&M won in straight sets!)... Not so much as a sniff of an explanation on the site!
