Hey guys/girls... just saw this article on the beeb and thought its an interesting topic and would like to se how you all felt about it.
Personally i think that the timing of having a 4 hour photoshoot jus a day before a Tier1 begins is a little inconsiderate of the WTA. But then again how often is it that you hav such players all assembled at the same tournament. I think the reported fine for not doing it is a little excessive and there should perhaps be an opt out clause or even a set amount of WTA promoting that they should each hav to do.
Of course this is sick (I never thought I'd be defending Sharapova someday...).
I think that even keeping a certain amount of hours that the players must devote to photoshoots in unfair - they're there to play, not to pose (at least that's how it should be).
I'm also with sharapova on this one I think.....though how can a photoshoot be energy-sapping ? though of course I appreciate they would rather be using that time for practise, match analysis etc
I would imagine that standing around for 4 hours just for pictures could be quite a drag, especially if it's sandwiched between training and other commitments.
