RE: Week 19 - Futures F1 (10k) - Kos, Greece

both have very winnable first round match......there's really not much difference between a lot of players ranked 700-1200....on his day Sean can beat any of these guys

great to see Jonny back, hopefully it's for a very extended period this time ! be interesting to find out just what level he's at ranking-wise this week.....fast courts in greece and bouncy too so should be helpful

Apparently its very windy out there, and he said he didnt play great yesterday. He has got another day to get accustomed before he plays on tuesday, but he should win that first round if he's anything like on form.

I see Sean Thornley has a very unfortunately named opponent - Danila Arsenov.

That might explain why it's so windy out there too!!!

Really sorry huys, couldn't resist that one.

MS1 :

THORNLEY, Sean (GBR) def ARSENOV, Danila (RUS) 7 3-6 6-4 6-0

If Sean wins his R2 match and Marry wins R1 & R2 then we will have a guranteed SF place as they would play each other in the QF.

Sean plays a Qualifier in R2

One step at a time....please win Jonny !

Lol, Thornley was getting some great results in South America last year before he got injured, perhaps he is finding some real good form now!

Sean needs to play more tourny's and get his ranking up, there's no doubt he's got a false ranking at the moment he's easy top 700 for me

He made the quarters here last year so unfortunately won't gain any points this week as i feel Marray will cream him! (if and when) wink

Its good to see Jonny back playing, I hope he at least gets the single ranking point first week out. If he made semi's or final (getting way ahead of myself I know!) would he be entitled to a SE for next weeks tournament? Does anyone know the reason for no doubles entry from him? It would have helped with the match practise but I am guessing he is still away from too much too soon?

Jonny Marray is a tennis player again!!

Got his first point with a 1 & 2 win today, says it's very windy, very difficult conditions, but still , he won, plays Ghedin tomorrow.

Great! Ghedin used to love playing Brits at one point of time, I think.
