In 1999 Lucie Ahl won a 25K title here on the French Riviera. Since then it has been upgraded to a 100K + H event so Anna Smith will be hard pressed to qualify for the main draw let alone emulate Lucie. Her section is:

clay is by far Anna's weakest surface though....I know she won the nationals on it but pro tour wins on clay have been very few.....she's struggled on the faster courts this yr so next month could be a very lean period
Although I daren't say it, I agree. I thought Anna would have improved a little but her ranking is kinda doing the Karen Paterson trend of not going much further than 400. I kinda thought she'd be pushing for top 300 at least by now.
