Andy's Live Ranking During Week 17 (Monte Carlo Masters)

The New Table is posted here (on britishtennis.net)

No- one drops below Andy as week 17 begins: So Andy stays at 20. He loses 20 points as his 18th score comes off and is replaced by the 5 points from R1 of Monte Carlo.

Robredo, Mathieu, Canas, Tursunov and Ljubicic do drop places. The latter two off the table.

If Andy wins the title, he can climb back to WR9.  He could have been overtaken by players as far down as Llodra at 38, who lost today.

By beating Lopez, Andy puts a bit more space between him and Karlovic, while closing the gap on Robredo.

Ferrero advances, winning his match. Moya and Stepanek lose.

No-one can overtake Andy in R1.

The Updated Table is posted here (on britishtennis.net)

Andy beating Volandri means he climbs above Hewitt and up to 19. Also climbing are Robredo, Almagro, Kohlschreiber, Andreev and Tipsarevic.

Youzhny joins Moya, Monaco and Henri on the flight out of Monte Carlo, opening up an inviting number of players for Andy to overtake if he can break his duck against Nole..

Karlovic, Nieminen, Wawrinka and Ljubicic lose behind Andy.

What- if for Thursday:
Andy has 1380 points and is sitting at 19.
If Andy beats Djokovic, he'll have 1430 points,
He will overtake Mathieu and Monaco.
He Could overtake Robredo, if he loses to Nalbandian tomorrow.

Best case, he advances to 16. Worst case to 17.

If Andy loses:
He could be overtaken by no-one.

He will stay at 19.

Nearest threats are Almagro and Ferrero

Hmm, least said the better about Andy's loss.

Robredo, Almagro and Kohlschreiber also lost. Andreev won and overtakes Kohlschreiber. Ferrero has yet to play

Players who can overtake Andy this week:
Ferrero, if he beats Nadal today and Ferrer tomorrow, to reach the semis.

Andreev needs to reach the final, getting past Davydenko and Nadal/Ferrer/Ferrero.

Best case, he stays at 19. Worst case, he drops to 21.

That's both Ferrero and Andreev out of the way, and Andy's safe at 19 for this week.

That's it for the table, unless Querrey reaches the final
