RE: Week 17 - ATP Masters - Monte Carlo - Doubles

So, is Max no good on clay? Or is Ullyett fantastic on clay? Jamie and Kev reached the final in Estoril on clay, not as high a profile event as this granted but... compares with some of M & M's earlier exploits on the hard stuff. Max's and Jamie's record so far is a win in Delray Beach where the competition was not so hot, ( apart from the Bryans, who have been getting beat recently),SF in Indian Wells, clap.gif three second-round losses and three first-round losses. Most of them on hard surfaces. I know new combinations need time to gel but I would have hoped by now they'd be capable of getting past the 1st round/2nd round of the major tournaments.

I'm not deliberately knocking Jamie or Max, I like Jamie and the infectious way he has of communicating his enjoyement while playing. I'm just worried that perhaps we are expecting too much from him, and starting to pin all hopes on the grass-court season.worry.gif

I would say that Max is certainly more suited to a fast surface than to clay, as he is a S&V player with a big serve.
