That's the only explanation I can think of.

Normally it would make sense for him to use his PR, as it has an expiry date and there are only so many tournaments for which it's good enough to get him into the main draw.

So presumably someone's already promised him a wildcard for this, especially as it involves coming over from Spain.

Looks like lessons have been learnt. Better late than never, I guess.

Yep, bring the kids back home from the Antalya disaster to play on clay - great idea!

Not such a bad idea for people like James and Morgan who like the clay obviously.

I'm finding it hard to believe that Josh & the Skupster picked th clay of Bournemouth over a DA (Josh?) or even qualifying in Lanzarote.

Josh is in Mexico the week before so would not have made qualifying in Lanzerote...maybe Bloomers will

Ah ok. Lanzarote tends to be quite weak though, so I thought he might have had a good chance of a DA.

It's green clay, though and I think it's Coxy's best surface along with hard. Plus he knows the courts better than anybody given how many times he has played (and won) the Nationals. Last year he beat Duclos who was improving fast then. And he beat another top 600 player (Ludwig Pellerin in Edinburgh) the week after.

I'd prefer it if he had gone to the US in this period to play the Futures and a few Challengers, but this is not that bad.

Cut off for Lanzerote this year was 251 so no chance for Josh hmm

Ah ok, maybe I'm misremembering (I usually check things like this before posting, but didn't this time), or everyone finally cottoned on to it being relatively easy to get into, thus making it not easy to get into any more!
