RE: Week 15 : Futures F14 (10k) - Malaga, Spain

Excellent result from Rice, he's starting to qualify regularly so hopefully he can get straight to getting regular points as well.

Shame for Morgan but he pushed the top seed close so I think the return is still going according to plan, if a little more slowly than we would all hope/wish smile.gif

Yeah, shame about Morgan but that's a sickening draw. To have to play a top 500 player just to qualify for a 10k is unreal. As for Rice, that's a few big results against much higher ranked players now but he's got to keep on doing it and pushing on now.

Great win for Rice and with the results he's been producing over the last few weeks I'd be hoping for him to win his first round match and get another ranking point. It looks like he's
really taken to the Spanish clay which is great to see.

Unlucky for Morgan to have such a tough opponent in the final round but he's pushing top 500 players again and so will be taken to his best soonish it appears. Definately feel like he would have won a round if he'd qualified but at least he's competitive and looks to be over the injury.

ATP and ITF have this down as a 15K. I've updated the thread title accordingly. Still, FD's point stands.

Nice to see Rice get partnered by a top 300 singles player. People have obviously noticed!

More the Brit Dee-stroyer (the only player to have completed a hat-trick of victories over where-on-earth-has-the-record-equaller-disappeared-to)

Just for the record, David may have lost in R1 of the singles, but he & his Spanish partner, Marcel Fornell Mestres, the third seeds, had a walkover against Philip Barlow & Tony Holzinger (GER), to go through to the QFs of the doubles...! smile
