Jamie & Max have been drawn to play the all-French pairing of Marc Gicquel & Fabrice Santoro in Round 1 of the doubles. If they get past them, which I would expect them to do, there'll be a quick rematch with Arnaud Clément & Michael Llodra, the seventh seeds, assuming they account for yet another French pair, Julien Benneteau & Nicolas Mahut! Wall-to-wall Frogs in Miami (Gasquet is also there with JWT, as is PHM, though he's paired with the Swiss, Yves Allegro)...!
* Stretch & The Beast are once again in the same quarter of the draw as their conquerors last week, Messrs Erlich & Ram!
** Title edited to reflect the fact that this was intended to be a doubles-related thread - & because I'd forgotten there was already a Miami thread in this forum, but didn't scroll down far enough to notice it!

I was beginning to think the hex was on the draw here. It must be the last one out. All the big guns there again. I hope M & M can put another good run together and improve their rankings and position in the ATP Doubles Race, currently standing at 8. I'm pleased to see Booty there ( I know he isn't a Brit), but I became quite fond of the guy when he and senior Murray were a team.

Round 2 (some might call it the first round proper with the seeds finally getting stuck in! ) of the singles gets under way later today, as does Round 1 of the doubles with four matches, one of which is that involving Booty & Jordan Kerr vs the sixth seeds, Damm & Vizner! A tougher match for them than the Sweeties' opener, methinks!

I'll agree with that. D & V 6th seeds here and also currently 6th in the ATP Race, whereas, the Sweeties' opponents are down in 19th in the Race.

Shame, but it looks as though they were coming to terms with the standard of play in the second set. At least M & M have got some matches under their belt!
